Need suggestion on Wedding Venue

Recommended Posts

Hi. I'm new to this site. I had my heart set on Turks and Caicos, but after finding how expensive it is and how much hotel cost and  my guests couldn't afford it I've decided to look into Playa De Carmen or the surrounding area. I'm not sure where to begin to find the ideal venue. I'm looking  preferably first weekend in March 2014, but I'm flexible. Anyone who have gotten married or attended a wedding during that time. How is the weather in March? I am looking anywhere from 20-50 guests. I am looking for a great venue with great views but I would need affordable accommodations for my guests. Any suggestions?

I don't have any specific suggestions, but I would suggest checking out tripadvisor.  That's where I got most of my information to help me decide.  Nothing like reviews to tell it to you straight :-)  Also, you may want to pay close attention to the week that you decide to go so that you don't get too many spring breakers, unless you'll have the fun party crowd that would like that.

Hi Violet!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your upcoming wedding! Choosing the resort is the hardest part - but there are many resources out there to help you with this :) I would recommend looking at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Azul Beach, Azul Sensatori and the Grand Sunset Princess as starting points! We would be happy to further assist if you would like to PM us your contact details to dicuss your wedding plans further!

March weather is beautiful - sunny, warm and not overly humid.

Happy Planning!

Thank you for your feedback. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment. I got quotes from Hotel La Reve and Maheka Beach Resort and it appears they all require a certain amount of rooms booked in order to hold the wedding there. That is where I have a problem for I don't know exactly how many guests I will have and I'm not sure if all my guests can afford those rates or want to stay there. Can anyone offer any tips on this? I need help to find an ideal venue!

I found that this was more common when trying to reserve boutique style hotels.  I was very fortunate that the location I chose didn't require any $ or bookings to schedule my date. Good luck!!

My date is 12/13/13 at Marival Residences & World Spa in Puerto Vallarta.  Most of the places that I looked at required a deposit or a room block with a deposit for each room.  Marival fortunately didn't require any of that.  Here is their trip advisor page (I used trip advisor to analyze most of the places I was interested in).  Let me know if you have any questions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
