Dreams Palm Beach Brides 2014

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!!

I'm getting married May 2014 at Dreams Palm Beach and so far there are 25 of us going. How is everyone doing with planning? My WC is Vanessa and she's pretty helpful. I'm struggling a little with the schedule of the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception since the latest we can be is 10:30pm. Is anyone else trying to figure out the best schedule so that their guests aren't left wandering around the resort waiting for the reception or cocktail hour to start.?

I'm bringing some of my decor for my May 15, 2014 wedding and I was told that there's a decorating fee if you bring your own decor. I asked my wedding planner if I can choose anything when I get there and she told me that I have to basically choose everything before I get there and that when I do meet with her it is really to just finalize everything. Who's your wedding planner?

After looking at all the decor and little extras I now know how the resort makes money. Everything is a fee. Chairs, charger plates, napkins, rectangular table for reception, cake table overlay. Tea light candles are $5 per tea light (I'm going off memory of what my WC told me in the email but it's something silly). At the end of the day you're still saving at least $10,000 so it's still a great deal but my fiance and I have had to up our budget after realizing the prices for everything.

I was quoted up to $500. We are doing beach chic so we are only bringing smaller decor. We're doing guest welcome bags and thought of shipping it to the resort pior to flying out but I'm nervous of items being damaged as they do not accept responsiblity for any missing or damaged items in their disclosure. So I'm asking my close wedding guests to add a little to their luggage hahahaha. I just sent an excel spreadsheet to my WC of all the decor, extras we want for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. I should hear back in a week with the grand total. I'm nervous.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
