Aruba Brides! Mainly Manchebo Resort Brides!

Hi! This is my first time posting in here. I read all your posts but I finally got engaged so now I have an excuse to actually write in here myself!

I booked my wedding at Manchebo Beach Resort & Spa in Aruba for January 24, 2014. I've only found a few posts/threads on here detailing it. Have any of you been to the resort/gotten married here? I go to Aruba a lot but have never actually seen this particular hotel. The price was right and the pictures looked pretty good online so I just took a chance and went with it.

Any help you can provide this newbie would be great! Already I'm wishing I just went to the courthouse to get married. Haha.

Hey Emily! Congratulations on your engagement! This is my first post too!! :)

I've actually also picked the Manchebo Resort for our May 3rd 2014 wedding, but like you, I've had trouble finding posts/threads here about actual weddings at Manchebo. From all the research I've done though, it does seem like Manchebo is in an ideal location: it's right on Eagle Beach which is a lot more private than anywhere on Palm Beach.

I am actually heading to Aruba next week to meet with the wedding coordinator at the resort and already have my list of questions for her. We will also be meeting with the florist and DJ there as well. Apparently, the chef doesn't come in until dinner time since the restaurant he operates doesn't open for lunch, so we have made reservations at the French steakhouse at Manchebo so that we could taste the food and hopefully meet with the chef as well. I've also arranged for a hair appointment for the hair salon that is right across the street from there. I forget what it's called but it's supposedly located at the Alhambra mall, which is a 2-min walk from Manchebo.

If you'd like, I can let you know how my visit goes next week!

That would be awesome! The wedding coordinator seems really nice and she has replied back very quickly to all my questions. Still waiting to hear back from the florist but other than that I have just been sending her pics from Pinterest and she'll either say she can do it or she can't. What people did before Pinterest I have no idea!

Definitely let me know what you find out and take lots of pictures :) We're getting married either on Jan. 31st or Feb. 7th. My fiance found out Jan. 31st was Super Bowl weekend AFTER I had already reserved the date so now we're looking to move it to the 7th. Men....  I'll also be sure to provide you with all the photos and stuff afterwards so you know what it looks like.

You're the best!

Have you been talking with Nyoka? I met her last week and she's very nice! She's looking into a lot of different options for us since I asked her a LOT of questions. I'll send you some of the pictures I took of the venue - I love it! The pavilion is right on the beach, with easy access to the bar and to all the rooms. We also went and looked at the high-rises on Palm Beach and we're definitely glad that we decided to go with Manchebo. It's a lot more crowded on Palm Beach, and the resorts are so huge that it takes awhile to walk from the lobby onto the beach. The beach area is also a lot smaller than Manchebo. Much more room on Manchebo beach!

That's funny that you have to move your wedding date because of Superbowl! SB is very important to men! :)

Also, I found this blog yesterday, and a couple got married at Manchebo on 12/12/12. Their pictures are great and it shows off the venue really well: http://www.benkanephoto.com/blog/2013/01/manchebo-beach-resort-spa-aruba-destination-wedding/

Anyway, i'll PM you soon with all the pictures I took!

Hey there,

I am considering Manchebo Beach in May 2014 too. I can't believe you booked it already. I hope I'm not too late with wherever I ultimately decide. The resort and beach look beautiful. I hope you had a great time and would love to see some pictures !

Hi everyone! My name is Sam and I'm also getting married at Manchebo in April 2016. I realize this thread hasn't been active for awhile, and congratulations since you've already gotten married! I would really appreciate if you can tell me about your experience at Manchebo: food, open bar? as well as any other info that might calm my anxiety :). I have never been to Aruba and we aren't able to visit before the wedding, so I would LOVE to hear about your experiences. I have been in touch with Nyoka and she's really nice, but has been really busy and hasn't sent very timely responses. I hope that now that we're getting closer to the date, she gets more involved.

I really hope to hear from any of you!

Sam

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
