Hello! I'm new to this site and thought I could pick your brains!

 

I am about to sign my contract with La Zebra and fork over my deposit that holds the whole resort for our wedding.

I have some concerns with the contract so I wanted to see if any of you could give me some feedback on it.

 

1.  Giving all the money upfront. I understand putting down a deposit and I understand maybe paying 1/2 of the whole wedding costs before arrival...but paying the whole thing before it even happens...it feels a little uneasy to me. I trust them and I have been speaking with an awesome contact over there but I just wanted to know how you all felt about it too.

 

2. The cancelation policy. It is all over the board in the contract and contradicting. I would not hold them responsible for any natural disaster but some parts in the contract they say they will reschedule the event within a years time and no refund and some places it just says no refund.

 

I plan on buying travel insurance and i plan on adressing my concerns with my contact, i just wanted to see how you all felt about this or did you have the same concerns.

Good instincts amanditaxo310 ! and good call on not feeling comfortable with paying all the money up front.......that is a big red flag for me as well !

I agree with you that a reputable business would have the practise of charging a deposit of up to 50%, but in my experience, it's always been a mistake to pay the full amount up front.

Doing that leaves you with no leverage .....definitely not a good position to be in.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
