I am getting married at the Paradisus Punta Cana 11/11/13 - so excited!
We have chosen the Chill Out Chic package. Ceremony and cocktails on the beach, reception by the pool.
I have a couple of questions for everyone:
While telling others about our wedding, many people have informed me that either they have been to a destination wedding or had a destination wedding and since there were X amount of guests, the resort gave them "freebies" for their ceremony & reception. I have also spoken with a travel agent (not my own) who works with a resort in the Bahamas and she informed me that since I have so many people confirmed (73 guests, all staying at PPC), I should be having the majority of the ceremony free.
I do not believe this, since when we were first organizing our "potential wedding", the resort made absolutley no negotiaitions with us, and informed us that they do not budge on price whatsoever, regardless of the amount of guests booking.
Has anyone else found this? I am just not concerend that so many people are informing me that their resorts give them small (sometimes large) discounts. I thought 73 people was a lot to all confirm with the resort and that they would be flexible on some costs.
Also, how does everyone feel about the resort's photographer? Has anyone brought down their own centrepieces/some decorations?
