Hello Ladies, I am new to this site, I find it to be very resourceful especially for a Destination Wedding. Thank you for sharing your experience and your wedding details. :) We got engaged Oct 2012, We have decided Punta Cana as the destination, it was pretty easy to pick D.R. Since I was born there and have some family. We don't have a set wedding date- I have been trying to get dates on the RIU website, the months we are considering are March-June. But there is no availability for 2014 as of yet?! Which makes it that much frustrating since we want to give our guests enough time to plan and budget. I want to be considerate and hopefully get a deal for hotel & air for them. Thats why we are not sure which month its the most affordable and inconvenient. IF anyone has a Direct contact for RIU - Punta Cana Sales Team that can assist me I will greatly appreciate it. It's soo much info and details that we need to be aware of that it makes it a bit of a Nail Bitter..But in all I want to enjoy planning our special day that I want to share our loved ones. I just want it to be an Amazing experience with min stress.. I have not picked out colors yet, our budget is under $15k we are estimating around 50-80 guests or so. We want to be married in the gazebo. I am a bit confused as to getting married legally in NY first since i hear its a bit of a pain to do it in D.R. .So much so much any info or details from brides and brides to be is Appreciated.

Congrats kgentile! and welcome to the BDW forum community! yes, you're right about this being a wonderful resource for planning a destination wedding - with lots of info, suggestions + advice from everyone here :)

There's a small boutique resort on the north shore of the DR which could be worth you checking out that would fit well within your budget,

It's  called "Vecinos" in Cabarete, and is a great place for an intimate group of 2 dozen people (in case some of your guests can't make it, and your number goes down).

There's a link to it here.......http://www.our-dominican-republic.com/accommodations.html

Wishing you all the best with your planning process, and that you have the most amazing wedding of your dreams - Cheers!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
