May 2014 Bride????

I am newly engaged, and have decided to get married in 2014.  However, I am having a hard time determining what resort to choose in Punta Cana.  I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions with regards to narrowing down a great location.  My fiance is 50(his 2nd marriage), I am 40(my first).  We thought it would be nice to go away.  All the resorts that I've researched have some enticing packages, but I'm fighting with narrowing it down to at least 2 or 3.  I do plan to travel early next year to do a site visit.  I thought planning a wedding at home was difficult.  This DW planning is just as difficult.

Thank you!!cheesy.gif

Hi Sbowie,  I'm a Wedding photographer based at Punta Cana, I live close to some big hotels, Barcelo Palace Deluxe, Melia, Paradisus Palma Real, Ifa Villas Bavaro & Now Larimar, are the closest, and I´ve worked in the most of them, so if you need any last minute information or whatever you need to know, feel free to ask.  Best Regards & Happy Planning   Asia Pimentel

HI there :)

I am not in Punta Cana but I have been there. We are in Puerto Vallarta. Mexico but I am sure they all work the same. Your best bet is to get a wedding planner to handle all your needs. It may cost you 500 to 1000 to 1,500 dollars but you will save this in phone hassles, better rates, commodity and convenience as well as a guarantee of experience. When I deal with my brides I offer them unlimited emails, Skype and phone calls and we answer them within 24 hours. So it is not that hard if they are organized. Hotels are busy and have weddings daily and sometimes twice a day so you have to be patient if you are not going to get a professional planner to help you and go only with the hotel staff.

Anyway, that is what I suggest and although I am in Mexico I am confident it is the same there as well. Good luck and if you need help with general questions of planning I am glad to help.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
