Grand Sunset Princess 2012/2013 Brides

Hi! I'm pretty new to the forum, and we have been going back and forth about choosing the Princess or the Principe resorts but have finally decided on the Princess! I sent the resort an email with a bunch of questions, so we are just waiting to hear back from them and our travel agent with some quotes before we can officially book our date (will be April 2014)

I think we are going to go with the Princes pkg and it looks as though we will prob have 40-50 aprox guests. We are totally fine with having the dinner in an a la carte, but want to have a cocktail type reception after for a couple hours. Any suggestions and/or pics of places to do this?

Thanks!

Liz :)

Congrats Liz! and welcome to our forum community :) I think choosing the Princess is a great decision, as shown in some magical wedding "moments that matter" we captured there recently.......with more at the album here.......https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151020594729487.444719.18683524486&type=3

Hi Liz,

Congrats! Now for the fun part of planning!

We did a cocktail reception at the Chill Out area, it was a champagne reception and they made a welcome drink for us as well which was extremely yummy!

It was gorgeous, they had wicker chairs set up at the beach with candles and tiki torches set up just for us. It was also secluded so you don't have to worry about other people crashing your party per say LOL. I would suggest that area as it's on a private beach. Hope that helps

Ugh, so sad, it looks like we will not be able to choose the princess after all sad.gif .The resort just got back to us and said that the max for the a la carte is 40 ppl, and we have just over 50 that will most likely be there. We can't really afford to do the $85/$100 pp for the private dinner and still get all of the other things we want such as photos, etc. So we are back to square one again, and thinking the GBP is what we will most likely go with.

Thanks for your help though... and Congrats Brandie!!!

Hi Brandie;

I'm trying to make some decisions with my April 2014 wedding and am really struggling with the meal/reception part. I am reading really great reviews about the Chill Out Party but am unsure what all it entails........buffet meal and reception included? And only for minimum 40 adults? Or is this an option for a group with a little less than 40? I wasn't sure if you had less than 40 that it became a plated meal? $100/person seems a little steep but if the reception portion is included and the reviews are so great it might just be worth it.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
