Great Hotel...... Horrible wedding planner!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello Brides,

After much consideration I have decided that it was important for me to leave a post regarding my experience at Dreams.  Although the hotel was beautiful and the wait staff were helpful, my experience as a bride was dreadful. Prior to my arrival to the hotel it was extremely difficult to get in touch with my wedding planner Gina.  It took 7-10 days to receive a response via email and when paying international fees to call the planner she would state that she would send me the information I need then never do it!! Many items were left until I arrived at the hotel due to this issue.  Since I only had two days prior to my big day at the hotel I was left to settle with certain decoration choices.  Gina was extremely forgetful! Both my mother in law and I told Gina that I wanted gold sashes for the chairs.... the day before the wedding she said we never told her.  She forgot how many guest were in attendance and of course did not have enough chairs set up.  The wedding was delayed due to this.  Another annoyance was that I stated over and over that I did not want the sun ceremony, of course as I am about to walk down the aisle she was asking me if I wanted the sun ceremony!!! Grr. Once I finally made it to the aisle I see sea shells down the runner, which was something I told her I did not want!  One of the worst parts of this wedding planning was that they forgot to give me my wedding dvd and certificate! I had to email them after the wedding to remind them to send it.... after a week I received it.  The certificate is still MIA.  I have emailed both Gina and her manager regarding this and of course NO RESPONSE!!

Brides please beware....... you will be in for frustration if you choose this hotel!

Also expect up charging and over pricing for the wedding and the hotel!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
