November 2012 Bride

Hi everyone!  My name is Stefanie.  I have been engaged since November 2011.  My fiance and I have decided to have our wedding November 15, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana.  The places looks beautiful.  Has anyone ever been?  I talked to our wedding coordinator last week and I must admit, it is a little overwhelming dealing with someone over the phone and I am getting nervous that things won't turn out the way we want.

Any tips for planning a destination wedding?  invitations (wording? how to nicely tell people they need to book like YESTERDAY) ideas for favors, etc?

Any ideas and suggestions would be helpful!  Thanks so much and congrats to all of you brides ;)

Congrats on your engagement and upcoming big day!

As far as wording of the invites, you might want to say something like "To ensure the availability for all of the members of your party and the best rates we recommend booking as soon as reasonably possible. Please let us know if you have any concerns or are delayed in making your reservations."

Concerning dealing with your wedding coordinator, my best advice is try to send pictures, that leaves the least amount of room for interpretation!

Lastly, on the note of wedding favors. Try looking into usb wedding favors, you can load them with photos and if you have a photo booth for your guests they can save their photos directly to the drives instead of walking around with the strips! You can even get them in custom shapes like flip flops or other destination-related themes. Let me know if you have any questions!

A coworker of mine just returned from there and she had nothing but rave reviews!  She was there for a desitnation wedding and she said it was excellent.  I seen some of her photos from the resort and it does look like a great place for a wedding!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
