Did you get married in May in DR??

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if it's rainy or not...I've heard the same thing about May. But then I've also heard that rain in DR doesn't tend to last that long. Any weather reports I've seen for the month or April and May so far have shown a chance of rain usually everyday. However, I've seen pictures from weddings during these months and it's been sunny skies.

For what it's worth, even if it's considered part of the rainy season, May is still very popular for weddings. My venue has over 25 weddings in the month of May and they only do one wedding a day.

We didn't get married in May, but we were on vacation in the middle of May 2 years ago. It was raining every day. The sun was out only in the early morning until maybe noon. Then it was raining on and off. You could still swim, it was hot enough, but yeah, not the very best month for the wedding.

Averages for Punta cana in May

May is spring time in Punta Cana and the weather is hot, sunny and very humid, so wear loose fitting, light, cotton clothing to stay comfortable.

May is part of the hottest period in Punta Cana, so expect hot weather when you're there and pack light!

People travel to Punta Cana to enjoy the tropical climate and the beautiful weather it brings.

The average daily temperature in Punta Cana is 27°C (81°F) and this can reach highs of 29°C (84°F) and lows of 24°C (75°F).

The average temperature of the sea at this time of the year is 27°C.

There is an expectation of 178 mm over 11 days of rainfall throughout this month.

Punta Cana sees on average 8 hours of sunshine each day throughout this month.

There's a reason Punta Cana is rated the top spot in the Caribbean for golf. The spectacular golf courses offer excellent facilities and the stunning backdrop of beautiful Punta Cana views. It's no wonder that this is such a popular area with golfers from across the world.

Let's face it: you don't travel to Punta Cana without having half an eye on the beach. Imagine paradise and chances are you'll be picturing the miles of white sand and torquoise sea that Punta Cana beaches offer. When it's this hot, lying out on the sand may be all you feel like doing.

If lying out on the beaches all day isn't your thing though, you can explore the beautiful coastline on horse back. A ride along the shore is one of the many activities to do whilst in Punta Cana.

I sure would like to know when these 11 days of rainfall occur.. :-/ I noticed next week is the week for it to rain this year, which is my dates for next year. :o( But I checked the May 2011 forecast and it didn't rain on my week that year.

I used to know of a good site for past rainfall and highs/lows... But I can't seem to find it right now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
