March 2013 Planning Help

Recommended Posts

After wedding drama after just a couple months going into the planning, my fiance and I opted to do the destination route and then come back and have a big reception.

We've been looking online trying to find the best places for having a wedding, but can't really get an idea of what we're looking at it costing us to see how to rule out areas. We're getting married in March and everyone we talk to says that we can't really book anything until May, but I'm just trying to get a ballpark idea of what it would cost to do a destination wedding. I've looked at all these prices that people have posted, but I'm not trying to do a wedding and reception at the same time. We just want to have the ceremony and then stay for our honeymoon afterward and do all the things related to a reception when we get back.

Can anyone shed some insight on routes to pursue or what it cost for them to have just the wedding? Hope this makes sense!! Happy Blogging!

Good question, it's really hard to say as pricing varies depending on venue and inclusions.  Some resorts offer free ceremonies if certain booking minimums are met.  A travel agent familiar with destination weddings can help you navigate all of this.

If you want to get some ideas of pricing, you might want to try one of the BDW Travel Agents.  They Specialize in Destination weddings.  You can contact them HERE!

I am getting married March 15, 2013 at excellence playa mujeres. We have already booked our room and reserved our wedding date. I reserved our date almost a month ago and the date I wanted was already taken. Of course this does depend on the resort. Most resort do through in a free wedding package if you stay 7 nights. Excellence has a free wedding package if you stay in the excellence club level and 7 nights is roughly $5000. I would suggest going ahead and reserving your date and picking a resort. Loved having a travel agent to help with this too.

Hello,

My name is Jimmy. I have a wedding venue in Puerto Vallarta and I get requests like yours all the time. I suggest you find a place where you want to spend your honeymoon and just ask the hotel for a romantic dinner set up and get married there next to your table area. They usually can hook something up with the concierge. some hotels have a table set up in the point of a pier for example or a special area for this.

If you do not want to do it at your hotel at all, then find a concierge person or ask your travel agent to help you locate one in the area you choose and ask them to handle it for you. It may cost you 200 dollars or so for the person to organize it for you but they will know the best spots and have it done stress free for you. If you want to get married and need a judge or a minister that will be arranged by them as well.

Good luck!

Jimmy

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
