Which resort for May 2013 Cancun wedding???

Recommended Posts

I am planning a destination wedding in May 2013 in Cancun. I cannot decide on a resort. I want an all inclusive. Also I will be traveling with my 2 daughters who will be 11 and 14 at the time. My children are at an age where I don't feel like they need lots of kid activities but since they are kids it limits us in the way of the adults only resorts.

I am currently looking at Cancun Palace which is probably my number one at this point but I am concerned about this Hard Rock transition. Does anyone know info about this? Will it still be a palace resort? I ruled out Moon Palace due to reviews about the beach not being great and I would rather spend time at the beach than the pool.

I am also considering RIU palace las americas. I do not see many reviews on it???

ME cancun is an option but I am worried that it will not be good for parents and my children but it looks so fantastic!?

And lastly Dreams. I am worried it is in need of an updating, the pics I looked at on trip advisor from actual people reveal it may be a little older.

Any thoughts? Thank you!!!

I just got married at the Cancun Palace on May 8. I am working on a WEdding Review to post later on but just an overview for you. I have stayed at the cancun palace before and loved it. That is why I chose to get married there! Alot of construction is going on there. I was not happy about but other than the construction I loved it! Perfect pool set up for adults and teens! I have a 3 year old and the kids clubwas awesome for him! The wedding on the beach was awesome (only complaints are the seawed on the beach, I have been to cancun 5 times and this is the first time I have ever seen seaweed on the beach, and people in bathing suits walking behind my wedding where my photographers were shootingso they will be in my pics) They did have a few other people watching but that didnt bother me! The reception was on the Breeze Terrance and it was awesome I would have change anything about that at all! We even ended up in the pool on the Breeze when the reception was over! My favorite thing about the resort was the FOOD!!!! Everything was sooo tasty and there was something to satify everyone! I think when the construction is over it will be a top choice

Hi Nikki,

What food buffet did your choose? Also, do you have pictures of your hair and makeup? I am still trying to decide if I should get my Hair and Make Up done there

    • When it comes to your Wedding Clothes, it's pretty normal to be flooded by numerous choices that are available in the market like clothing style, pattern, fabric, and colors.  Absolutely, I liked this dress and I will never miss wearing this outfit for the wedding. Thank you for sharing this post.
    • Hi guys! Thank you for sharing the valuable information. Some students think, “How do I write my book review?” and are confused by this sort of task, and others are happy to do it and enjoy the writing process a lot. Such a difference in perception and attitudes is caused by the ambivalence of this task.
    • Hi All, I have just gotten in touch with a TA and we are in the process of getting quotes for our wedding in either DR or Mexico. Now she said something that I wasn't  aware of and I wonder how others handled this as I just can't believe that we are the only one in this situation. We feel we are asking our guests already a for a lot to come a long way to our wedding (our guests come from Canada and Germany) and there are a few that wouldn't want to miss it (like my partner's brother) but they just don't have a lot of money. Our budget doesn't allow us to chip in for flights and accommodation so we are basically asking everyone to save up money for our big event. Now we are planning the wedding at a resort that I know some of our guests can't (or don't want to) pay for. We were hoping to find a place where guests have the option to book themselves a cheaper hotel or an AirBnB nearby and only come to our wedding. Our TA told us that the resort might not allow that or only for a limited percentage of our guests. That is terrible news for us! I think that a good 50% of our guests will also stay at the resort for one, two or even three weeks but how can we 'force' other people to stay at the hotel of OUR choice?  I get that the resort would charge a fee for day guests and obviously we expect to pay for food and drinks but I didn't know that we would have to agree to a certain percentage of the guests staying at the resort. I don't feel we have control over that. How do others handle that?
