Vendors, tell me what your best wedding meal has been in Tulum

Recommended Posts

I say "vendors" because I'm assuming they are a unique group of people likely to have eaten at a variety of real weddings in Tulum, but I would appreciate input from anyone who has eaten at a wedding in Tulum.  My goal here is to figure out what places are likely to have the best food on the actual day of the wedding.  Of course we will do site visits and have a tasting at some point.  The problem is that anyone can make great food for a two-person tasting, but it is very hard to make great food for a 75- or 100-person event.  Thus... forum members, I turn to you for real-life experiences at bigger events in Tulum.

Some background, in case it helps: my fiance and I are food lovers who live in New York (in the West Village).  Some of our favorite restaurants in New York are Fedora, Joseph Leonard, Vinegar Hill House, Eleven Madison Park, I Sodi, Fatty 'Cue, and all the Momofukus (if that helps pin us down at all -- sorry I know those are all pretty different).  RIght now Cabanas Tulum is at the top of my list because of a variety of factors, but I'm not sure if the food there is good.  A friend was recently in Tulum and said Hartwood was amazing, but it doesn't sound like the type of place where you could host a wedding (please correct me if I am wrong).

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Kate

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
