Hi there!

I can totally appreciate your frustration, and was feeling the same way.  In my case, some of our guests had actually never received our STDs in the mail, not sure if it was due to the postal strike, they got lost or just accidentally thrown into the recycle pile.  Others hadnt gotten back to us, they probably felt they had time to book, as they likely hadnt gotten around to checking out the wedding website, or maybe they were just deciding.  Either way I was worried about my upcoming early booking deadline at the end of september, and the fact that some might not have received their STD.

I collected almost all of my guests email address and all of their phone numbers.  I sent out a reminder email with some upcoming important dates.  The problem with my STD postcard is that the link is printed there but guests have to actually type it into their internet browser.  Many people never get around to doing this, since they beleive they have lots of time!  (our wedding is still 8 months out).

Here is a sample of the email that I sent, with personal info removed.

I have heard from a few people that their invite never arrived. I think the postal strike may be to blame, but in any case I am sorry to hear it and wanted to be sure to check in with you to ensure you get the information about the wedding.

When I sent my STDs a year in advance, I included the URL to my wedding website, which was chock full of information (how to book the hotel, things to do, travel information, what the weather will be like, what the dress code is... you name it). Despite this, I got tons of questions anyway. So don't get frustrated when people don't know something that you included in your passport invitation. It's bound to happen!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
