Just got back from my wedding and honeymoon at Our lucaya Resort. I wanted to write about this resort while it is still fresh in my mind. We arrived on Dec 29, 2010. Our wedding coordinator was Meryl! SHE WAS USELESS! We arrived at 12pm and we were advised that check in is at 3pm, so we check in our luggage and wen and meet up with our wedding party. 3 pm arrived and our room was still not ready. My wedding party got there rooms first. I'm the bride. We had no room until almost 4:30pm. The check in process was very unorganized. We then met with our wedding coordinator, MERYL! She advised us to relax and enjoy the resort and she will meet with us in the am. We then went to our rooms. My fiance and I woke up and had breakfast. She didn't contact us at all to advised us to get our wedding garments pressed, so my wedding dress, my fiance's tux and our wedding party, stuff was all wreckled. My fiance call down to the desk and found out that when we arrived w should have been advised to have the cleaners press our items, so my fiance had to put a rush on all our items. Wedding coordinator, no where to be found.

WEDDING DAY! I saw Meryl, the so called wedding day! 1 time, the whole day and that was when I was walking down the aisle. We had to inquring about everything with her.  I got married on the beach and there were spectators walking all on the beach. It is a public event. They did not section off the beach or anything. So if you get married on the beach, expect that strangers will be walking threw your wedding.  Meryl was the worse wedding coordinator ever. I would not advise anyone to get married at OUR LUCAYA. It was over priced and not worth the hassle. Meryl did nothing. I could have planned this wedding myself in the Bahamas! I think as a bride, you should feel special on your wedding day and I didn't. It was like another day for the hotel. There is also a fee for everything, down to cutting your wedding cake. If you do decide to have your wedding there, my florist Volice was excellent and the baker, Cindy was very good as well. They both did what I requested and they are reasonably priced.  The hotel grounds are beautiful and the service was good. Once we got checked in we had no problems with he hotel itself. Another note is that the the hotel and all the shops around it charge your gratuity for everything. Example, my husband bought a candy bar at the hotel cafe and it was 4.00 with gratuity.  In all, Our Lucaya/ RADISSON was a nice hotel, but if I had to do it again. I wouldn't get married there. My wedding was beautiful and memorable because my family, friends and wedding party made it a wonderful day.

Well if your thinking about getting married there, you should bring your own coordinator. They will respond your emails and act like there up on things, but its just a scheme into booking your wedding there. You also have to pay everything before your get there, so you can't ask for your money back.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
