The Engagement

Chris and I decided to take a weekend trip to Chicago- I had a suspicion that something was up because he didnâ€t let me plan any part of our trip. We went to a Cubs game during the day, and he had secretly made reservations at the Signature Room in the John Hancock building for dinner. It was so romantic, looking out onto the city and the lake from the 92nd floor. We had finished our dinner and I could tell he was nervous… but one thing lead to another and the next thing I knew he was on one knee at the side of the table telling me how much he loves me and wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Of course I cried…. I found out later that he had asked my brother for permission before he popped the question. So thatâ€s that, and hereâ€s the ring.

The Dress

I had 3 different opportunities to try on dresses- all 3 times, my mom canceled on me… So dress shopping wasnâ€t exactly how I had imagined it. Itâ€s a good thing I have a wonderful aunt and a great best friend to help me find my perfect dress. The first time I went to try on dresses, I was shopping for a winter wedding dress. And I had found it. The store wouldnâ€t allow any pictures to be taken. Boo. Anyway, itâ€s neither here nor there… since about a month later, Chris and I were talking about our wedding and we made a compromise of sorts. We agreed to have a destination wedding, but we would move the date up 6 months… so now we are going to try for a family sooner The first dress is one that I really wanted… and the second is one that I found at Davidâ€s Bridal for half the price of the first. Never did I ever imagine that I would go for a lace wedding gown, but I guess that happens quite a bit.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
