Dreams Tulum wedding in December 2007

I am also planning a wedding at the Dreams Tulum in June 2008. I just started researching the hotel. Are you having the ceremony in the chapel at the resort? Does anyone know how many people can fit in there - it seems small from the pics.

Hello!,

My wedding will be on the beach, under the gazebo. If it rains, I don't know what plan B will be !

You can probably sit 20 people in that Church...look at the picture on the Internet site of the resort (under weddings), you can probably count the benchs and have a more precise number.

How is the wedding planner at the resort? Do they seem organized and respond to requests fast? I requested some info online but havent gotten a response yet. I' also read on Trip Advisor about the new room vs. old room dilema. Is there any way to guarantee all guests get a "new room"??

smile123.gif I think i am going to the resort over labor day weekend to check things out... i can give details when i return. If anyone has questions or things they want me to look into, let me know!

The new rooms are an "upgrade" though many of my guests did get upgraded to them for free. The ones who didn't had really lovely rooms in the old section. The only person who had any problems was my photographer who had a leaky air conditioner. They moved her promptly.

The wedding coordinator there has a heart of gold but is extremely overworked. It will take her a while to get back to you. Her name is Sandra Casillos and her assistant is named Landy. They are really accomodating, and will make note of the emails you send them, but they are really slow in responding.

Hope this helps.

Sandra has always e-mailed me back between 30 minutes up to 3 days of delay. So far, no problems with her at all, she always answers my questions.

Give me your e-mail adress (send me a private message) and I will give you all the info you need about the wedding packages.

The new rooms are Dreams suites... so if you absolutely want a room in the new section, reserve a suite and hope that your upgrade will be in the new section... if you reserve a regular room (Deluxe garden), your chances are smaller to get it (for free) ! Also, it all depends on the availabilities... if there is alot of rooms not booked in the new section, they will probably give you one for free...

Don't forget, the hotel was built in 2000... and the additionnal rooms in 2006. So, the "old" room are not that old !

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
