Thanks! Yours will be fabulous too, don't worry too much, if that is possible.

#1 - You said that the guests had rights to the Royal because they upgraded their room at The Gran Porto - what exactly does that mean? Our guests have a Jr. Suite Ocean view - is this considered an upgrade?

It was more than the normal upgrade to the next level. It was a Gran Jr. Suite Beachfront Walkout.

I'm nervous because I'm staying at The Gran with my daughter but my wedding is at The Royal, so I'm scared that I may have issues getting over there and I'm the bride!!

Talk to your wedding coordinator beforehand to get it figured out.

#2 - You said you paid to extend the reception 1 hour, do you mind telling me what that costs? We're interested in doing that as well.

$10/person/hour. Not sure if that is still the price.

Thanks for all your help! I can't wait to come back and help future Royal brides too :)

For the wedding- guest can arrive about 15 minutes prior-whether from a different resort or the Gran Porto. I highly encourage you to have a list of non resort guests and provide it to the WC.

If the guests would like to come over earlier or on a different day there is a cost.

From Angie" If someone is coming over for the wedding real guest from another Real resort or a guest another resort entirely they do not need a pass to come to the wedding. To come over to The Royal for any other reason, from any place, for the day or evening the rates will be as I have given you."

Thanks Jennifer for the info. I have been glazing over this info because originally I had all my guests at the Royal but now I have a family staying at the Gran. Could you quote those prices again (the day pass if they wanted to come over another day). Thank you so much!

Diana-

TA Jennifer is correct in that all non-royal guests can come over 15 minutes beforehand (you do not have to pay for extra guest passes)& they can stay the whole time of you wedding, BUT if there is any sort of break between things (ie between ceremony and cocktail hour), that is where there was some confusion from both our guests and rules of the resort. Your non-royal guests cannot consume anything except for beverages and food from your wedding. This means they cannot go to a bar at the Royal, but they can consumer everything that you are paying for via your wedding package. Does that make sense?

Yes, that makes sense! Gosh, how are we supposed to keep track of the guests and tell them not to go to any bars when we're too busy taking pictures and etc? smile41.gif

I guess we just need to have a point person to tell everyone! Hehe.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
