Has anyone had a ceremony at 11:00am?

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies,

My ceremony is scheduled for April 12, 2010 at 11:00 am at the ROR. Does anyone have any ideas as to what to do in between the ceremony and the dinner (which is at 6:30)?

I wanted to do someting fun with my guests to celebrate right after rge ceremony but the hotel doesn't offer much with regards to lunch recpetions.

Thanks!

Dominika

My wedding is at 2 ( a little later than yours) and I also have to wait until 6:30 for the reception. All I could think of is doing your pictures (which will take atleast an hour) and maybe a cocktail hour . I was also thinking about just letting my guests kind of relax and do their own thing but Im worried it will be too broken up and people will have to get ready twice.

April 7th, 11AM!

It will be just be the 2 of us, so it's very different. I can't imagine myself spending the whole afternoon with my dress on when it will be so hot outside, so we will put our swimsuits on, hang out at the beach, and change back for dinner.

Really you are limited in the activities you can partake as a group dressed up for a wedding, and if everyone keeps together, I think they will have bored out each other (or drunk out wink.gif ) by the time your reception time will come. Might be better to have them get ready twice, they will be fresher for the party!

Mine is at 1pm! We're just going to have a couple of cocktails, do pictures after and then I'll let the guests do what they want until dinner at 6:30.

Come to think about it, most weddings I've been to at home, the church ceremony is in the afternoon and then guests are free to do what they want for a few hours (go back to their hotel, grab a late lunch, go shopping) and then everyone usually meets for the reception right? I don't think people will think this is a big deal. In fact, it might be a wierd to just have them all waiting around in their Sunday best when there's a big ocean to go swim in! happy wedding planning

My girl friend got married at 11am in Mexico and she took her group on a snorkling excursion. it was awesome! no one really cared that they got their hair wet before dinner and the bride and groom got some amazzzing photo on the catamaran of themselves which are some of their best photos.

just and idea!

Our wedding ceremony is at 11 a.m., with a reception at 6:30. We're planning on having our pictures taken right after the ceremony, then letting the guests do whatever they want until the reception. I'm kind of looking forward to being able to relax in between and not having to wear my dress for hours on end in the hot weather. I know my FI is glad he can get out of his wedding outfit for awhile!

I'm having an 11am ceremony and while not at Riu, didn't consider the fact I may not be able to do a daytime reception. That said, I like the idea of waiting til nightfall, so we aren't out in the sun with heavier clothes on. Go back, change, relax, have a few drinks, come back, PARTY (and eat/drink/be merry). :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
