Aura Cozumel Wyndham Grand Bay Resort

Recommended Posts

I stayed at this hotel back in March 2009, and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to Honeymoon or wedding in Cozumel. It is adults only and a very nice new boutique hotel. I will try to post pictures of my trip. Let me know if anyone has any questions. We also visited the sister properties (Wyndham Cozumel and Sabor) so let me know if you have questions about those places as well. Happy planning!

I was going to have our wedding there...pretty much had it in my head that was the location for 2 years...then H1N1 hit and a lot of our guests said they wouldn't travel to Mexico so now we are going to Punta Cana and it's a much better price too! But I LOVE LOVE LOVE that resort and highly recommend it!!! Don't read the Trip Advisor reviews b/c/ a lot of them are very negative...but my TA told me to never read them anyways.

I didn't see any weddings while I was there. I will try to figure out how to post pictures for the resort. It is beautiful and very clean and modern :)

My fiance and I stayed at the Aura for 7 nights last May...right in the midst of the swine hype..which worked out to our benefit, we had the whole resort/beach to ourselves! the hotel is beautiful!! If it wasn't adult only we would have considered having our wedding there but we have a few kids that our in our party. If anyone would like pictures of the resort, I have tons! I can email them :)

I am also planning on having our wedding there in April 2010.  So far it looks like the best option but I don't know where someone would have the ceremony? I wrote the wedding coordinator there just haven't heard back yet. I haven't seen any pictures of a wedding there- has anyone else? I love the decor and the 'no kids' rule.  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
