Santa Fe Questions - Speeches&Photography

Recommended Posts

Im hoping a few of the past brides can help me on this one. Im getting married in November and then having a reception at home as well in December.

My plan was to do the speeches at the reception at the Steakhouse in CAbo, a friend who is a videographer was going to record them and make a video for us to play on the projector at our reception at home. I emailed Erica and unlike the Palace they dont give you a mic at the dinner. Im wondering if any other Santa Fe brides have done their speeches at the dinner?? If so could everyone hear you over the other restaurant patrons? I have alomst 60 guests so im not sure if we will be too spread out for everyone to hear.

The new photographer for the Santa Fe, Has anyone paid for photography here? I dont need 5 hours, it seems like if you want all the pictures they take you have to buy 5 hours. I was hoping for 2 or 3 hours unlimited pictures. Maybe it is possible to talk to the photog personally once he gets there and ask for the all the pics and give him some money under the tablehuh.gif Ive attached the pricing i was given for anyone who may not have it. I havent been able to get an answer from Erica on this so i thought i would ask you guys.

Unlimited Pictures$1250 uds5 hours

Unlimited Pictures$350 udsExtra Hour

Elegance 12$290

Unique 24$325

Platinum 36 $485

Diamond 72$725

I was married at the Santa Fe May 21, 2009. We paid for the least expensive picture package. When we met with the photographer a few days later, he offered all the pics to us for $200 Cash. We took him up on the offer, very nice gentleman!

Good Luck

So, how long was he taking photographs when you asked for the cheapest package? Was he there getting ready, ceremony, to take pics of the two of you afterwards?

I think i would def like to take the $200 option....lol. Im most concerned about pics from the ceremony, and of the two of us after. The rest I have pretty good photogs who are guests, not so much wanting them to take the romantic pics of the two of us...lol.

Hey ladies does anyone know if that pricing is for 2010 packages as well. i looked on the riu website and it looks like there is no photographer included in the 2010 packages. Pictures are very important to me and im getting a little nervous that they may not have a photographer for 2010. It isn't helping that now i hear no outside photographers are aloud in the resortsad.gif Just looking for peace of mind.

I cant help with the picture questions. We brought our own photographer.

As far as a Mic we didnt have one. There were 30 of us. We had the first seating in the steak house on the terrace. That way no way else was there until the end. We had no problem hearing each other.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
