Do I have ti invite my aunt?

Recommended Posts

Long story short, my uncle cannot make it, but his wife is asking for an invitation. I rarely speak to them, and I do no like her! She is very manipulative. Invites went out and RSVP date is June 1st. My mom doesn't like her either and REALLY doesn't want her to go. Now she hasn't directly asked me, but has asked my Grandpa where her invitation was? What should I do?

If you don't want to invite her then don't. I know I didn't invite my mom's sister, but that is on a whole other level. I don't even consider her family.

If you don't invite her, I would just be prepared for any family drama that might occur. Sucks that she's putting your grandfather in the middle. Since your mom doesn't really like her either it might not be so bad.

It is your day and you can do what you want, but as brides, of course we'd prefer to rock the boat as little as possible (less clean up to do afterwards). :P How about sending them BOTH an invitation (kind of on the assumption that as a couple, if your uncle can't make it, she would want to wait to celebrate your wedding with your uncle present) for the AHR if you're having one or offer to take them both out for dinner b/c as much as you appreciate her willingness to come, you and FI do not want to leave out your uncle and would instead love to celebrate with them TOGETHER in town.

Hope you find a resolution that makes you happy and drama-free!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
