I need help! I'm so overwhelmed trying to pick a resort! All the packages seem to be running together! So far the ones on our list are: RIU Maya Palace, and Iberostar Paraiso Lindo. Anyone recommend these and why? Anybody have something that is better? We're trying to keep the package somewhat reasonably priced!

Sometimes it helps to make a list of what you're looking for:

adults only or allows children?

Small to midsize or mega resort?

Is the beach important?

How much you want to spend and want your family to spend?

etc....

Sometimes that will help you to narrow it down and people can make suggestions. Or tell us why you chose the ones you did so far.

It definitely needs to allow children. And it would be nice if a family of 4 could spend 3 or 4 nights for 2000 or less but definitely 2500 or less. We liked the Iberostar because if we wanted to, we could stay at the adults only resort and still visit with all of our guests. But we chose the RIU and the Iberostar because people can stay at one of the different tiers depending on how much they want to spend. Other than that, I just really want to get married on the beach and then just have fun afterwards with good food and some dancing. Whether the dancing is at the actual dinner or at one of the bars on the resort afterwards I don't really care.

HI! I just got back from the Riu Palace Riviera maya. It was gorgeous. I am thinking of chosing the Iberostar paraiso for my wedding. The Riu is my second choice, but i want you to know that the main reason for that is that the Riu was a bit more relaxed and quiet. My fiance has siblings who are teenagers, and I want them to be able to be involved in the activities that the Iberostar has. I've stayed at Iberostar Paraiso beach, and it was a little more active than the Riu. More pool games, activities, more participation at the night shows, etc.

The Riu's packages are cheaper though...and I will tell you that I saw 3 weddings there and they were great. I totally would go back there in a heartbeat, and if the Iberostar falls through, I will be going back to RPRM!

Hi,

I'm getting married at the RIU- Riveria Maya. We chose this because their wedding package was amazing. Dinner & Ceremony set up for 50 people for only $1,500. I also needed a place that allowed children, and they do. But most of all, I fell in love with their ceremony location because they have a gorgeous gazebo that overlooks the beach and palm trees.

We have an awesome thread with info all about the RIU RM. If you want to read through it maybe it will give you some perspective!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
