Plan B?? Rain Concerns

Hi all! September/October of 09 is the only time frame that works for my fiance and I. Due to the industry I'm in, I cannot take off work between November and March and I really don't want to push my wedding off until spring 2010!!!

 

That being said, I've now learned (from this awesome forum) that Sept/Oct is the rainy season in Cancun/Playa del Carmen so I'm really freaked out.

 

My options are a) change to Cabo/Vegas/somewhere less rainy or

 

Pray it doesn't rain! That being said, I really only want to have my wedding in Playa if I can find a place that has an awesome plan B!

 

Anyone have a wedding in the Riviera Maya when it rained? What did you do? Did you like your plan b? Anyone scout out a venue that has an awesome plan b? Depresses me to get married in some boring conference room/ball room, so if anyone knows of any cool venues with an inside component where the reception could be held that'd be awesome. Thanks !

You might take a look at Michele's (Nenamono's) reviews of the Paradisus. I know she had rain and went with her plan B venue.

You are right... that is the rainy season... but you never know. You could make plans in an alternate location and have the same issues. Best to make a decision and go with it... you have no control over what mother nature may do.

Your attitude will dicate how the day turns out!
