Finding the strength to continue to plan my wedding

So my dad passed away earlier this week. It was sudden, a massive heart attack. While right know it feels like life is absolutely unbearable, I know with time I will be okay.

I got engaged less than a month ago. He was so excited to go to Hawaii for my wedding, and were just figuring out a date with him the night before he passed.

I do not know how Im going to do this. How am I going to find the strength to get through this, and even try to plan this?

My heart is simply aching.

My heart truly goes out to you. I hope that time can heal you and your families pain. There have been some cool things I've seen on this forum how people remember their loved ones that passed away on their special day. I bet you can come up with something really special. My thoughts are with you. We are all here for you.grouphug.gif

Oh my goodness, my sympathies at what will probably be one of the most difficult times of your life.

My suggestion, don't continue to plan right now. Your wedding is over a year away so there's no rush. Take some time to heal and not plan, and before long you'll be ready to get back into it. You can incorporate him into the wedding in many ways and, of course, he will be there whether you see him or not.

Best wishes :)

Sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know how hard it can be. Just stick close to your fam and comfort one another. Doing something on your day for his is good idea. I know he would love and appreciate that. Stay strong and we are here for you.

I am so, so sorry to hear about your father! My heart is just breaking.

I wish I had some great bit of wisdom or insight to help you get thru this. Know that we are all here for you, and will help in any way that we can.

Be strong. Take time to heal and don't rush things with the wedding planning.

I am really sorry to hear about this, while I tend to agree with Jamy about not planning right now because your heart isn't in it, you can also look at it like your Dad was so excited about this and you can push forward because that is what he would want you to do. Good luck with whatever you decide, we are all here for you!

Oh my gosh! You poor thing! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know it may be cliche but since he was so excited to go to Hawaii his spirit will definitely be there with you, guiding you through this amazing time in your life. Take some time for yourself and mourn but please try to enjoy the process and know your dad is shining upon you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
