I have to make a list of what i have to do. So what do you all you Nov brides or any other brides have done at this point?

I'm totally freaking!!!
You are way ahead of me! We're getting married November 15th and all we've done is send the STDs. I haven't even STARTED dress shopping!!!!! We just moved, started new jobs and built a house, so we have been consumed with those life changes. I can't believe the wedding will be here so soon! Yikes!

Opice, I hope you have a chance to enjoy the process. With the help of everyone here you will be sure to get it all done with as little as stress as possible. Any idea what kind of dress you want?

I can't figure out how to use the multiquote button. huh.gif

Thank you!!!!

I just started looking at dresses and am starting to get an idea of what I want. I had been feeling very unfeminine because everyone seemed to expect me to have picked my dress out when I was 12 years old. When I'd say "I have no idea" they'd look at me like I was crazy.

Also, I'm fat and pale right now and the thought of trying on WHITE dresses and standing on a pedestal in front of a 360 degree mirror while a bunch of women poke and prod at me has sounded like one of the worst days ever. But I think I've finally decided that I need to go dress shopping now! FI and I are going to Cancun this weekend for another wedding, so at least when my mom and I go dress shopping the next weekend I'll be fat and tan. cheesy.gif That should make the process a bit better!

But there is a store in Houston (where my folks live and where my job is) that has a great destination wedding line, so I'm making an appointment there.

Winnie Couture

I really like this one and I'm hoping to try it on...

Danielle - you mentioned that you're starting the dress hunt soon, too, right? Sounds like we're about on the same schedule! cheesy.gif Are you nervous or do you have a good idea of what you want?

Sorry for the thread hijack!!

I like the dress your looking at, do you know what the detailing is? crystals, lace. it looks beautiful.

I acutally got my dress and I was really dreading dress shopping. Because i'm pale and fat too!!! But you know what the first place i went to was great, i didn't feel like i was being poked and prodded. But the second place I went to I hated, it was david's bridal and i felt like they would just leave me standing in my undies with my dressing room door wide open for everyone else to see. It was an awful experience, about 4 dresses in i just stopped the sales lady and told her i was done. so you need to find a place that your comfortable with. Oh, and i wore boy shorts, i didn't want my ass hanging out. Dress shopping wont' be as bad as you think it will be.

I'm starting my diet next week, joining the BDW biggest losers season 2 for motivation. so hoping next time i try my dress on i'll be thinner and tanner.

I'm actually starting to look for bridesmaid dresses. Goodluck with your dress hunt and let us know how you make out!

That dress is gorgeous!! Have a great time in Cancun! That was my theory when I went to DR ( I am at my heaviest weight right now), being tan made me feel a little better. If you get to try on that dress take pics, we love them here!!

Ooooo....maybe I'll join the BDW Biggest Losers too! That would be great motivation for me!

I honestly wanted to wear my trusty SPANX to go dress shopping, but I'm sure that'd be a little weird!!

Do you have your colors picked out?

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
