A Perfect Wedding at The Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens

My husband and I got married at the Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens on February 8th, 2012. We searched for months on end trying to find the perfect destination wedding venue and finally found it at the gardens.

The gardens is the perfect venue for a wedding in Puerto Vallarta. There are two wedding packages for you to choose from, in two different price ranges- one with a more Mexican feel and one with a more North American feel . Our 7 hour wedding package included: transportation for our guests to and from the gardens on a motor coach bus, the venue for the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour consisting of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, a sit down formal dinner (with a choice of three entrees), wedding cake, a DJ and open bar consisting of sodas, beer, wine, etc.
The whole day from start to finish was perfect. The food was delicious (we chose salad with mixed baby greens followed by chicken cordon bleu with steamed vegetables and roasted baby potatoes), the venue was absolutely stunning, providing an intimate atmosphere, and the staff were incredible- every time you turned around one of the waiters were there to take your plate or provide you with another drink.
Carlos Mendoza and Vibiana Curiel (also of DMC Vallarta) make an incredible team. They made sure that our vision became a reality. I had spent countless hours fussing over details for our big day and sent countless emails, but once we had our site visit prior to the wedding we knew everything would come together since they are extremely professional and accommodating. We had brought everything from bride and groom chair signs to ribbon for the cake and they made sure everything was taken care of. Vibiana, their wedding coordinator, even recommended a hair salon  (Sebastian Hair Salon, which we used and did fantastic work) as well as a videographer (Daniel Romero, who we also used and did an amazing job on our wedding video) for me, as well as took care of ordering our flower bouquets from a local florist. To top it all off, Carlos allowed all of our guests to release wish sky lanterns at the end of the evening creating a truly memorable, magical moment against the black sky of the mountains. it was incredible.
We arranged for our own photographer (Puo Photo), and officiant (Robin from Vallarta Vows), but they can help you with that also, so it's truly a one stop shop. We also paid to have a slideshow, which was well worth it. There was even a golf cart that was used to help transport those with mobility issues... they truly have thought of everything!
In summary, if you're looking at getting married in Puerto Vallarta consider the Botanical Gardens. The staff is incredible, the scenery is breathtaking and I'm sure your day will be perfect just like ours.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
