Non Resort Venue Options - Private Villas

Recommended Posts

If you're looking for a totally private and personal space for your wedding, consider renting a private villa.

The space is your own, totally customizable as it is a blank slate. No packages, hidden fees or surprise add ons!

There are MANY to chose from, from Playa del Carmen to Tulum! One of our favorites is Casa Chaac - a spacious villa in Playacar with a large outdoor area for a fabulous fiesta!

See one of our weddings at Casa Chaac here: http://weddingsinplaya.com/jen-and-adam-private-villa-casa-chaac-in-playacar/

And for anyone thinking of a non resort/DIY wedding, be sure to read our Bride, Jen's trip report. An amazing guide to planning her wedding in Playa del Carmen full of fun ideas!

I read this trip report a couple of weeks ago by chance: this wedding sounds epic! LOL  Anything with a churro cart is my kinda party!  The unfortunate catch for me with villas is that the vast majority of them have minimum stay requirements, and staying with my family and future in laws for X number of days in such close proximity would not help my stress level, or theirs. ;)

Anyway, this looks just lovely and I'm glad to know that we have such expert planners here at BDW.

Thank you brownsugarbride!

It was definitely epic! And since this wedding the churro cart is in high demand ;) We have had it at Grand Coral beach Club too. Always a hit!

A villa in Playacar is great because as you can see in the trip report, most guests stayed at a hotel close by. There are plenty of resorts and hotels in Playacar, most in walking distance or at most a cheap cab ride away, so you definitely aren't obligated to share your space!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
