Pros: Lots of them
Cons: none at all

We were so happy with our stay at the Riu Santa Fe! We went down for vacation my now fiance proposed and we are going back for our wedding (June 25th).

Welcome/check in:

Smooth and easy! They welcome you with a margarita. Hotel staff speaks English. The hotel general manager is constantly walking around the different food areas and is present day in and day out. Everyone is friendly, courteous and helpful.

Food:

Amazing! We were really impressed with the general Buffet called California (i believe) which is where great breakfast is served and they have dinner. Breakfast and Dinner were my favorite through out the entire stay. Huge variety and selection. Super clean and have several chefs, waiters and staff. Any thing you need they understand that it is there job to help. The other unique thing about the Riu is that they have specialty resturants included on the grounds. We ate at the mexican and steak house and they were both very good. It was nice to go to a dinner in a resturant feel that was included. You did have to make reservations in advance and be on time or they will skip your reservation.

Rooms:

We paid for the "lowest" room but it was nice. Mini bar in the room, nice bathroom and it had a bit of a view with a patio. Each room has a fridge that they keep stocked every day and they provide big bottles of water. Maids were very trustworthy and friendly as well.

Nightly Entertainment:

We enjoyed their events which changed daily whether it was the evening show they have or the daily fun crew ;) they are all great. The shows were great and very well coordinated and choreographed! and they had different themes each day for the most part. Including one very nice Mexican Fiesta night...

They did have nightly live music after dinner before the show. Very nice and after the show that usually got done between 10:30pm and 11pm (started at 9) there was a disco which was not really our scene but it was a place to dance and hang out. Bars/drinks all you can drink all day long.

I'm not sure what else would need to be reviewed?

Everything you could ever need is there and for the most part it is included. They have two pools. One is where the party is for the most part and the other is the quieter pool.

It was built in 2007 and is quite large. I believe they have around 700 rooms. So it is new! I like that! We toured the Riu Palace which i believe was built in 2003 and the rooms were nothing to compare. Santa Fe was better all the way.

There is a lot of walking but that did not bother us at all! They have a small gym and steam room included.

its a 10 minute water taxi to the marina and probably about 10 minutes to tour the arches and or go to lovers beach. You can see the arches from the hotel and it sits right on the beach.

We had nothing to say. If i had to say something Lunch could be a little better and it seemed like the options were repeated every few days but still a good quality of food.

I will say in regards to the wedding we did watch one while were there and it was very nice. Not as private as i would have liked but that is the one thing i have to overlook. I have been in touch with the WC a lot and she is very helpful and always gets back to me. They have everything very organized and included (which i love). I did research at other hotels and it was all seperate which could add up quick.

Hope this helps!

Hi I saw that you have a wedding planned at Riu Santa Fe, my fiance and I just got engaged and would like to do a destination in Cabo Riu Santa Fe is one we are considering. Could you give me any details you have like cost and how many guests you are having. Also what are you doing for your reception. This is all so overhwelming and we are trying to decide if we need to make a trip out there to do some planning /tour.
