Thankfully when the time came to choose a hair and makeup expert, I stumbled across this forum and found Ms. Melissa!! My experience working with Melissa and her husband, Edgar by far exceeded my expectations. They were both incredible partners during the entire process. As a destination bride, it was quite scary picking someone to trust in this process but right away Edgar put me as ease. Edgar was always quick to respond to any questions I had and always provided guidance when needed. When I arrived in Mexico, Melissa and I met for a trial run...which went so well. My vision of wearing my hair down (old Hollywood style) was a huge stressor as my hair is naturally wavy (the ugly wavy kind) and VERY frizzy. Then you mix in the Mexico humidity and it's a recipe for disaster. She assured me she'd make it work... and boy was she right!! The day of the event, she came pumped and ready to make my day the most memorable ever. Now my wedding day wasn't what any bride wishes for - as we had RAIN... and a ton of it...all day with no end in sight. Of course my main concern was how I would wear my hair down in all this rain... in my opinion there was no way it was going to hold up and not frizz. Again, Melissa reassured me it would all work out. During the final hour of getting my hair and makeup done, she was extremely comforting...reassuring me this was going to be the most memorable day of my life...and no rain could take that away from me. That day she was not only a phenomenal stylist, but she became my friend. She could have just shown up...did her "job" and left - but she didn't. She and Edgar showed me such love, support and compassion which made my day that much more special. Melissa will always be a significant memory of that special day. I encourage all future brides to trust your instincts. If you're highly concerned with your wedding day hair and makeup, you'll want someone you can trust during this process who understands your vision and concerns. Coming from a previous hairstylist...who is ULTRA picky about hair and makeup... I couldn't have picked a better stylist. She’s truly a rockstar!
