  1. Had a wonderful experience at the Beloved Hotel!! It was also our third time back!! Had a rainy wedding day, however it was by far an incredible day for myself and our guests!! We had decided on an outside vendor for hair/makeup. Well worth it!! Mayan Hospitality works directly with the resort, so no vendor fees!! I chose the onsite photographer and he was amazing!! Even put a little video together that captured the entire wedding!! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! carrie.sota@@gmail.com Good Luck and Happy Wedding Planning!! Best Day Ever!!

  4. Beloved Brides, I am getting married in October and was curious as to who you used for hair/makeup - and what you did for photography. I'm getting pressure to use the house vendor, but I'm not convinced they are right for my wedding. I look forward to hearing from you!! -CLL
  5. Hi Kim7799 - Just curious about your experience with the hotel's photography vendor. Also - did you use the hotel salon for hair and makeup?
  6. We booked a group contract through Wendy Hicks with Wright Travel. I would highly suggest locking into a group contract and negotiating the rates. If we didn't have our rooms blocked out, our guests would have had to pay more per room to book (on their own), not to mention we're 2 months from our wedding date and the resort is 99% full. Had we not had a block, our guests that waited up until this time to book would have been out of luck. Wendy is very helpful and has a great relationship with this resort, I would suggest reaching out to her - wendy@wrighttravelagency.com Good luck!! Carrie
  7. Hi Kim, I'm getting married this October and plan to have approx 30 guests. Where will your reception be? That's the most difficult decision for me. Thanks - Carrie
  8. Hi Nicole- Don't give up - I'm working with a travel agent that works closely with The Beloved Hotel. She's been incredible. If you need a referral - let me know.

    Best Day Ever!!

    Pros: Recreating my vision!!
Cons: That I couldn't take her home with me
Thankfully when the time came to choose a hair and makeup expert, I stumbled across this forum and found Ms. Melissa!! My experience working with Melissa and her husband, Edgar by far exceeded my expectations. They were both incredible partners during the entire process. As a destination bride, it was quite scary picking someone to trust in this process but right away Edgar put me as ease. Edgar was always quick to respond to any questions I had and always provided guidance when needed. When I arrived in Mexico, Melissa and I met for a trial run...which went so well. My vision of wearing my hair down (old Hollywood style) was a huge stressor as my hair is naturally wavy (the ugly wavy kind) and VERY frizzy. Then you mix in the Mexico humidity and it's a recipe for disaster. She assured me she'd make it work... and boy was she right!! The day of the event, she came pumped and ready to make my day the most memorable ever. Now my wedding day wasn't what any bride wishes for - as we had RAIN... and a ton of it...all day with no end in sight. Of course my main concern was how I would wear my hair down in all this rain... in my opinion there was no way it was going to hold up and not frizz. Again, Melissa reassured me it would all work out. During the final hour of getting my hair and makeup done, she was extremely comforting...reassuring me this was going to be the most memorable day of my life...and no rain could take that away from me. That day she was not only a phenomenal stylist, but she became my friend. She could have just shown up...did her "job" and left - but she didn't. She and Edgar showed me such love, support and compassion which made my day that much more special. Melissa will always be a significant memory of that special day. I encourage all future brides to trust your instincts. If you're highly concerned with your wedding day hair and makeup, you'll want someone you can trust during this process who understands your vision and concerns. Coming from a previous hairstylist...who is ULTRA picky about hair and makeup... I couldn't have picked a better stylist. She’s truly a rockstar!   If you'd like to see pictures, I'd be happy to share those. You can reach me at carrie.sota@gmail.com
