I'm looking for advice. My fiance and I are getting married in less than a year and a few of our closest family members are less than supportive. It seems like every corner we turn we can't get anything but negative criticism about being stupid and being told no one spends that much on a wedding, blah blah blah. The newest is "no one wants to party and have to drive home, its too far and no one wants to stay at a hotel" Here's the background information.... -We're getting married at an ocean view location only 20-30 minutes from our town. -All in including food and drink for 80 guests, dj, photographer is roughly $22,000.00 -We're paying for it ourselves. I guess I'm looking for advice one whether the cost is really that outrageous and we should just suck it up, lose our $7000 deposit and elope or just continue as planned and to hell with them.
