Is there only a sky gazebo is that the same thing as sky terrace? I didnt get any info about that yet. So you think they would be ok w out the decorations? Cause im not planning on spending a lot on the decor.

Yea I'm realizing that now.... The gazebo really is pretty enough on its own with the water but I can see needing a few flowers and what not... I told my fiance i hope we can cap it at 20 people

  2. @sasholz she told me it was 90 per person for the private reception. And then 30 for cake and ceremony. Yeah they are really hard to communicate with over there. And im looking at Royalton as well, they send me all the info I needed in one email and i feel like their packages are very affordable. But i feel like hyatt is a much nicer hotel.

Yes I figure at $69 per person for the private wedding reception and the extra charge for the cake/champagne for additional guests it only works out to be about $1500 give or take for the amount of people I'm having. Makes so much more sense for me!

I'm just so turned off by the lack of response.... I'm also considering the Royalton Riviera and their wedding coordinators are so friendly and quick to send info. Not to mention the hotel is more affordable. I just hate that it's in the middle of nowhere LOL! I like to be able to walk off the resort and have shopping/nightlife.

  3. Hey, @@sashloz

Im kind of in the same stage because im trying to see which package will work better for me. I thought the complimentary one would come out cheaper but ill be having around 30 people or more and i also want to add a private reception so when you do the additional charges it comes out to be almost the same so might as well have more perks. However, for you the complimentary one might work better. I am still looking at other resorts to compare packages but I like hyatt a lot. It looks like we will be having our wedding around the same time.

Hey guys!  :) I'm considering the Hyatt Ziva for our May 2017 wedding. We were originally set of the Gran Porto in Playa del Carmen but I'm just not in love with their beach and since I want both the ceremony and reception on the beach I just can't compromise lol! I wish I could pick up the Hyatt Ziva and move it to Playa del Carmen (I've traveled to Cancun tons of times) I'm definitely have trouble with the WC there. I'm working with Jazmin at the moment. She emailed me some general info for the Gran Porto two weeks ago and I've emailed back 4 times with questions with no reply! So frustrating! I tried to call to get more information about the Hyatt Ziva since I was not hearing back but they would not let me work with a new coordinator....so I have to wait. I think my fiance and I are just ready to start putting deposits on everything once I hear back from her...

We're expecting the wedding to be very small, about 20 ppl. At first I thought it was a no brainer to go for the Lavish package but now that I'm crunching numbers I'm considering the complimentary package for the ceremony and just paying for the reception and other add ons a la carte.  I just don't feel like I'll make use of the spa treatments, makeup, cocktail reception etc. Is anyone else doing it this way? I'm picky when it comes to decor/photography so I know I'll probably want to put the extra money towards that  :D

  4. Does anyone know who I should contact regarding the wedding at ziva cancun, I called them and Margarita sent me this form to fill out to secure a date but I have questions about their packages and doing the a la carte option before I secure my date. She has not replied for 2 weeks now. It doesn't seem like they want the businesses. Can anyone give me insight on how to get started with this process? Maybe I should just go with a different resort if they have communication problems right from the start.

  5. We are all a little bit bias towards our own resorts I think.

We chose Azul Fives in Riviera Maya because of the Sky Deck. We also did not want a beach wedding and as soon as I saw these photos we fell in love. The Sky Deck costs $1800 to rent for the reception and then another $15 per plate on top of the food you select. For this view, we felt it was worth it.

The resort itself isn't cheap but if you are flexible with which month you get married, you can get affordable rates. The Sky Deck itself holds 200 people so you will be able to fit your party no problem.

    Hi,

I am also trying to look at different options. Which package do you have ? And also are you paying any extras such as a dj, decorations, or anything else? Or just the package and extra for the sky gazebo? And food?
