  1. Hi HisMrsWright,

We will be getting married at the Royatlon in 5 weeks. We too have a larger group. We are 50 people including my FI and I. Your budget really depends if you want a private or semi-private reception.

We have chosen the private reception. There is a fee of $300.00 to change your reception to private. You will also be charged open bar per person per hour. You will also need to chose your menu and pay  for each person. We chose the free package which only includes 10 people and then paid the additional people. It was cheaper for us to do it that way.

Feel free to ask any questions, I am done planning with resort and have already paid my final invoice.

As for photography, we are in Canada and with the USD being so awful, it was better for us to pay for a local photographer. Her and her assistant will be spending the week with us and therefore we will a week worth of pictures rather than one day with the resort or someone local in Jamaica.

    Happy Planning!

  2. We are getting married May 4. Arriving at the hotel May 1. Our guests are paying $1683 for 7 nights. We put our deposit down October of 2014. The dollar is awful but at this point my fiancé and I are just going with the flow. It's out of our control and we cant lose sleep or stress about it.

  3. I don't know if you are on facebook, but their is a Royalton group which has some pictures of the beach set up. Not many but it does have some. I am not sure when you are getting married but we are getting married in May and are having a beach wedding. I can send you picture after our wedding, of course that's if you haven't had yours yet. LOL!

  4. I too am getting married at the Royalton in May. I have done the following:

    - Save the dates

    - Dress - Woohoo!

    - Guest deposits all made

    - Wedding Bands

    - Photographer

I decided before I started planning that I would tackle one item at a time. I have a very demanding job and don't want to be overwhelmed. I want to enjoy the entire planning and not stress or dread. I am currently working with our florists for our floral for our centerpieces and bouquets. I too am having a broach bouquet done.

I haven't decided on table clothes either. Tinren - what kind of table clothes did your order? Have you received them yet? I am afraid of ordering table clothes and them being too heavy to take with us.

We are using the hotel DJ. I've researched and found their preferred vendor. I can give you the company name if you would like. I have it written down somewhere at home.

  5. Looks like we will be seeing you there then. I never dealt with Laura but I have been dealing with Ashley so far and she has been pretty good as responding to my emails in a timely manner.

We are actually taking our own photographer with us. The Royalton just recently switched their photography again. Pictures are very important to us, so we decided to bring someone. We just had our engagement pictures done with her on the weekend and we are so happy with our choice. They look amazing.

  6. What day are you getting married? We arrive on May 1, getting married May 4 and departure on May 15, 2015.

Who are you dealing with? Directly with the hotel? We are from Toronto and deal with the coordinators that are based in Toronto and they have been amazing at responding to emails.

  7. Hi there, we are getting married at the Royalton White Sands on May 4, 2016. Our guests are paying $1683 including taxes for 7 days flying from Toronto, I am not sure where you are flying out from. I have all the pricing brochures and I can email them to you if you would like. We are having a private reception on the beach. We have 50 guests attending.

The great thing about the wedding planner is she is based in Toronto. There is a wedding planner in Jamaica, but you will only deal with them when you arrive. I have been speaking to Ashley from Toronto and she has been great at answering all my questions.

  8. We are also getting married in Jamaica next year. Our hotel uses Tai Flora and they do not allow an outside vendor for floral and décor, so I am stuck with them. I haven't had great response from them. I am trying to bring as much with me as I can in order to keep some costs lower. Their prices are outrageous.

As for photographer - We are in Canada and with the crappy dollar and the amount of time we want for pictures, it was actually cheaper to hire a local photographer and pay for their trip - so that's what we are doing.

    Happy planning!

  9. Hey,

We are getting married at the Royalton White Sands in Jamaica May 2016. We too originally wanted Dominican, however because we really wanted to have a legal ceremony there, getting married in Dominion is much harder. Plus we are attending a wedding this November to Punta Cana and wanted to chose somewhere different as some of the guests will be attending both. Jamaica is probably the easiest country to get legally married in. You do not need any documents translated and only need to be in the country for 48 hours.

We are bringing our own local photographer. I am from Canada, so with the dollar being so bad, it was actually cheaper to do this. We have hired our videographer yet, but we have been looking at Gary Samuels
