  1. Thanks for the replies ladies! Wendy, any thoughts on which would be better for a wedding or are they pretty comparable on what they offer being they are the same resort chain? So it seems like you think the caribe has a more picturesque beach? Not interested in a catholic wedding so that doesn't apply, I'd ljke beach or gazebo I suppose. And I'd love a private reception either on the beach or pool side. I've heard that the gran porto's pool is much nicer. Hmmm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Anyone know which is generally pricier? "Better" for a wedding? We'd been planning on gran Porto but since I've been on this site I've seen a lot about gran caribe so I'm a little curious. Thank you so much!!
  3. Hi everyone, I'm completely new to this site. My fiancé and I are in the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding, shooting for the Gran Porto real in playa del Carmen. We were originally aiming for November 2014 and have a group of about 30 on board and were planning to book this week. However we are now considering January 2015 for a few reasons but no rate info is available yet and according to our travel agent, she won't be able to give us flight/hotel rates until around March. I realize it will probably be more expensive in January and if it's too much more, that would be a no go and we'd stick with November. However, waiting that much longer to book for November , the rates will probably only go up. I'm lost as to what is a good choice right now. Anyone have an idea how January rates in this area might compare to November rates?? Thank you!!!
