Thanks for the replies ladies! Wendy, any thoughts on which would be better for a wedding or are they pretty comparable on what they offer being they are the same resort chain? So it seems like you think the caribe has a more picturesque beach? Not interested in a catholic wedding so that doesn't apply, I'd ljke beach or gazebo I suppose. Anyone know which is generally pricier? "Better" for a wedding? We'd been planning on gran Porto but since I've been on this site I've seen a lot about gran caribe so I'm a little curious. Thank you so much!!

Hi everyone, I'm completely new to this site. My fiancé and I are in the beginning stages of planning a destination wedding, shooting for the Gran Porto real in playa del Carmen. We were originally aiming for November 2014 and have a group of about 30 on board and were planning to book this week. However we are now considering January 2015 for a few reasons but no rate info is available yet and according to our travel agent, she won't be able to give us flight/hotel rates until around March. I realize it will probably be more expensive in January and if it's too much more, that would be a no go and we'd stick with November. However, waiting that much longer to book for November , the rates will probably only go up. I'm lost as to what is a good choice right now. Anyone have an idea how January rates in this area might compare to November rates?? Thank you!!!
