  1. No. I didn't pay for one because I didn't have one. Thanks so much. I was VERY happy with my hair and make up both

I am a little worried about the makeup - a few brides have said that it gets cakey with the stuff they use so I thought about having them use my own. reason being my skin is HYPER sensitive, I dont wear makeup like foundation on my skin ever because when I do certain ones make my skin bad.

  2. Ahh I've been debating that last minute also! We're using the saxophonist for the cocktail hour, bringing an ipod for ceremony and reception. We purchased a BOSE soundlink mini for music rather than pay 650$ for a sound system. This way we have it to use for other things and we know how the music sounds prior to the wedding day.

This Is my ceremony playlist as of now:

    1. What a Wonderful world

    2. Somewhere over the rainbow

    3. Here comes the sun (instrumental) brides entrance

    4. NOT SURE YET! Worried about the timing!!

    5. Better together _ Jack Johnson

I intend on finalizing this later today. AHHH Cheers to having a day off!

I will be excited to hear how the BOSE system works out for you. My FI and I have been wondering this as we are having our reception at the Carnival Terrace next May. Will you let us know how it works out for you next week!! Congrats!!

  3. I have an excel worksheet that Pilar gave me for the cost breakdown for extra people.

We are having 75 people and having a hard time deciding what to do for dinner. It's seems crazy to pay an additional $3000 for the rest of the guests over 25 to eat at an all inclusive resort.

We are thinking about putting the money we would spend on dinner towards an all inclusive party boat instead where people would much rather have the $70/person spent.

    What are other people's thoughts?

I can email the spreadsheet to anyone else that would like to see it.

We are getting married November 6th and having the same problem with a large group and the crazy extra charges. I was not told that we had to do buffet, you can choose a menu like anyone else.

Do you mind sending me the sheet as well?

Sorry I know a bunch of people are already asking...

  4. I think maybe swept to the side would be nice. The thing that you will notice first is if the back of your neck is sweating your hair will stick to you.

I have long hair and I notice that on certain days here in Playa when I have my hair down everything just feels 10 degrees hotter! But my hair is thick so maybe since your hair is thin it might not be so bad.

Most of my brides have chosen loose updos, still hanging a bit yet not weighing them down. Let me know if you would like some examples and I can look through some past pictures and see what I have. :)

If you have some examples can you post them for sure?

  5. Thanks! I tried on the wtoo but haven't tried on the essence. I'll try and find it to see if I can try it. I originally didn't any a satin so it actually may work out well.

They all look stunning on you. Look at essense for sure. I was stuck between three - two Maggie Sottero and one essense. I ended up going with something from essense -almost similar to the one that was sent to you above. To dressy or not its your wedding - Rock whatever you want to rock!

plus I was SOOO impressed with essense in terms of price!!!

  6. My girls are paying for their own dresses, but I'm buying them sandals, earrings, bracelet, getting ready shirt, tumbler, personalized canvas tote bag from Lands End, custom hanger with their name, and bridesmaid tank top.  I also might get each of them a personalized beach towel.  My sister is a beautician and will be doing everyone's hair.  They are on their own for makeup as of now.

Cool - your bridal party are sure lucky ladies!!!

  7. Not sure when if you went on your honeymoon yet, but here are some suggestions.

    Restaurants:

*The Edge has to to be one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at.  So delicious and sits right on Rodney Bay.

*Rainforest Hideaway in Margot Bay is another great restaurant.  You take a little boat to get to it and it has a great romantic feel

*Jacques is Castries is where I had the dinner part of my reception.  Super nice people, good food, and again, it sits right on the water.

    Activities:

*Definitely go to the Jump-Up on Friday night in Gros Islet.  It's fun to see the local and tourists partying together and we got some great street food.  My favorite was some kind of chicken pocket and my group sold this woman out of them at the beginning of the night.  I had some really yummy guava ice cream from the ice shop/

*Sulphur Springs isn't the most exciting thng, but you should definitely check it out once.  There are a couple of cool waterfalls that you can go to near there and actually swim in them, but I can't remember the names right now.

*One word...Catamaran!  We went with Carnival and had a blast.  I know there's another company called Mango Tango that my wedding coordinator recommended.

*I missed out on zip-lining through the rainforest, but next time we go back I will definitely do it.  Some of our wedding guests went and loved it.

*I would skip the Botanical Gardens unless you're really into going to that.

I recommend finding a cab driver that you really like and paying him to take you on a tour for a day. I did both an organized tour and a personal tour and liked the personal one better.  They were both good though.

St. Lucia is a beautiful, fun, safe island, so the most important thing to remember is that you want to get out of your all-inclusive resort and experience the island.  Don't just hide out the whole time because you'll miss out on so much.

If you already went on your honeymoon, I already know it was fabulous.  If not, then have a blast!

good read - I am thinking of honeymooning here!!
