Hi deckerk! No worries! I was the same way when I first booked Memories. I had a million questions! We are a group of 60 total. We are doing the ceremony on the beach and then a private reception in the "garden" area which is like a grass area with a gazebo. I *think* it is between the pool and the beach going by the few pictures of it that I have seen so far.

Hi deckerk and Janellep107! That is great you have booked Memories! I am booked in for July 1 2014! Less than 2 months! I am hoping everything will be great. I know it is definitely a risk booking a place that is just opened but the resort looks beautiful and I am sure everything will be awesome! How many people are you expecting for your weddings?

I emailed the wedding planner last week and she responded but only to say that they still don't have any further information. The resort was set to open this week but the opening has been delayed until February 1st so I assume it will still be a few more weeks until they have any information for us. Makes me nervous!! Perhaps afidler88/Amanda has received some information as I believe her wedding there is in April.

Hi Mandy! We booked a "package" that includes flight and hotel together from a tour operator, Sunwing, so I don't really know what the hotel portion of it is. Our group rate for the base room was about $1350 per person and that includes taxes, flight and hotel and it is a 7 night package. So that works out to just under $200 per night but that is including flight too. I hope that helps! It is definitely a good price for the Bahamas and the resort is supposed to be nice. Hi Amanda! Have you received any further information from the wedding planner at Memories? I know they are set to open up very soon so I am getting anxious to receive more information on the wedding packages, etc. Also, do you have a contact email for Mark from Mango Tree? I tried to reach him through his website but didn't get a response. Thanks!!

Hi Amanda! Thanks so much for the information about Mark from Mango Tree. I think I will shoot him an email to discuss. We are using a travel agent as well and expect over 50 people too. I am so happy to have someone to discuss with!! There really isn't even any information on the Freeport area here as it is mostly Nassau. I think we are going to pull the trigger and book today for a July 1st wedding. Travel dates would be June 28-July 5th. I did get the basic wedding packages from the Memories wedding planner. I just thought that maybe once you booked, she would provide more information. That's okay though. I am kind of happy I won't have that information until January because I can focus on things like invitations etc now and it won't be too overwhelming. I am very excited to hear that there is a good photographer in the area as that was something I was worried about. Do you need to book directly with Mango Tree or is it all done through the resort? Can I ask where you are flying out of? Did you book with Sunwing (I thought I remembered reading that they have the exclusive rights to sell packages for this resort)? If so, I have a couple of questions for you on the group booking process, if you don't mind. Thanks so much!!

Hi there! Did you end up booking the Memories? I am in the same boat as you right now - thinking of booking this resort as it is inexpensive for the Bahamas since it is new. Definitely risky with no reviews, etc. but I think we may go for it too! Let me know if you booked and if they gave you any more information!
