  1. kbride2014 - i just looked your pictures under your profile - your so organized - where did you get  you and your bridesmaids earings?

I got my earrings from my sister as something borrowed, she got them online somewhere for her wedding, I can ask her what it was called.

My bridesmaids earrings are from Amazon, here's the link. http://www.amazon.com/Wedding-Jewelry-Beautiful-Crystal-Fashion/dp/B00B79ZAAS/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1408123705&sr=8-6&keywords=bridesmaid+earrings

  2. Okay Ladies, it’s time for me to let you all know about our wedding experience wedding at Now Jade, June 18th, 2014.  Everything was perfect; weather was amazing even though like a week before the wedding it was calling for a 100% chance of rain that day! Our guests had an amazing time and couldn’t stop complimenting the resort and everything there! Everyone wants to go back ASAP! We had Ariadna as our wedding coordinator. My husband and I met with her the day we arrived and gave her my dress, all the decorations, and my husband’s attire to steam as well. She is really on top of it, she had all my notes printed out and the pictures I emailed her and I barely needed to give her any direction, she was very well organized and very eager to please! I requested to see the ceremony set up before the guests were taken to the beach.  I got one of my bridesmaids to go take a picture for me and bring it back for approval! I told her what I wanted and she fixed it right away!

Our wedding was at 5:30pm on the beach, our cocktail hour on the beach and at the beach bar from 6-7pm, and our reception was in the garden at 7pm. The guests were told to meet in the lobby and then Ariadna and her assistant escorted them to the beach about 15 minutes before I walked down the aisle.  The ceremony was beautiful! As soon as I get my pictures from Del Sol Photography I will post some! I had the silver tiffany chairs and brought my own teal/jade sashes to match the girls’ dresses, I also bought a starfish garland from Etsy, and it was elegant and beachy. We had a large bridal party for the beach but it still looked nice, we had 9 bridesmaids/groomsman and two flower girls/ring bearers. The flowers were perfect, I got fuchsia roses, Ariadna brought them up to the salon as I was getting my hair done to make sure I approved. I also brought a satin ribbon to wrap the bouquets in so that I knew it matched their dresses perfectly! They wrapped the bouquets beautifully for me. The guy who performed the ceremony was very easy to understand, and he warmly conveyed the ceremony. I sent what I wanted said at the ceremony to Ariadna weeks in advance so he might have practiced. We did a sand ceremony and it was very appropriate for a beach wedding, I got the kit online for around $25. The music I wanted for the ceremony was perfectly played from my iPhone, I just made a playlist with ceremony songs and I had a list of what I wanted for each thing.

We didn’t really get to see the cocktail hour at all because of pictures, but I heard great things about the drinks and food! I can’t wait to see pictures from the cocktail hour because we missed it for the most part. For the reception in the garden, it was beautiful. We had 7 round tables of guests and a really long head table for our bridal party, we got the large dance floor and it was really cool, I would definitely recommend it for an outdoor reception!  We used the resort DJ and no lie he was better than all the DJ’s in the Pittsburgh Area, we loved him! He would change up the song if he could tell people weren’t as happy about it. Most of the people there were on the dance floor but the ones that weren’t dancing said the bugs were getting bad, just a reason to get up and dance in my opinion! But I think the resort sprays down the area with repellant to try to avoid that problem! I know I didn’t get any bites and I was dancing all night so that must have been the problem! We requested Darius for the bar at the reception; he was very fun, making tasty shots for everyone all night! It was awesome! I heard ‘Greatest Wedding Ever” a couple times, so you can’t beat that! Our Video is supposed to be sent out in about 2 weeks, from Mike Cantarell with Cancun Wedding Video, so I am super excited about getting that and our pictures from Del Sol!

    Opening

Good afternoon, we meet here today surrounded by the beautiful ocean and blue sky to celebrate one of life’s most joyous occasions and to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite Christopher and Kacie in marriage.  In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife.

On behalf of Christopher and Kacie, I welcome you and thank you all for gathering here on this beautiful day to witness their marriage ceremony. The fact that you all have traveled such a great distance to be here today is a testament to the amazing amount of love and support they have. All of you have given them much happiness, love, warmth, and guidance through the various stages of their lives. They would like to sincerely thank you all for being here to celebrate their special day.

    Ceremony

Marriage is an affirmation of life, an undying commitment, a spiritual, emotional, and intellectual bond between two people. It is created from the purest of friendship, respect and love. The institution of marriage should not be entered into lightly, as it is true commitment on every level. Together you will continue to meet the challenges and obstacles of life head on.

Marriage has been described as living in love with your best friend; an adventure in the most intimate of human relationships. It is the mutual commitment of two people sincerely in love who share the same dreams about life, their fears and desire of family. The vow of marriage is a pledge of their everlasting love, whereby, they commit to share all life has to offer.

The marriage between Christopher and Kacie does not mark the beginning of a new relationship; rather, it is an acknowledgement and celebration of a relationship that has been flourishing since they met.  Love is the longing two people feel for one another. It is the need to share, in body and spirit, the warmth, serenity and peace two people can give to one another. A simple touch, a hand held at a time of uncertainty.  Love is life’s highest emotion. It makes us less selfish, it makes our personalities grow, and it makes our lives more meaningful. It is caring about the welfare and happiness of your partner as your own. Love makes burdens lighter because you divide them. It makes joys more intense because you share them. And it makes you stronger so you can reach out and become involved with life in ways you dared not risk alone.

A successful marriage takes more than just love. It takes trust, to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other. It takes dedication, to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. And it takes faith, to go forward together without knowing what the future holds for you both.

Christopher and Kacie, you have chosen to walk through life together. There is no truer statement of love. The choice was not made by any one moment, but by being together you grew to realize that you belonged together and that you fulfilled each other’s needs. You have come to thrive upon each other’s presence, loyalty and wisdom. The foundation of your love is profound friendship.  A friendship you have nurtured until at last you realized that you wanted to be together always. The commitment you make today will be the foundation on which you will build your life together.

    Hand Ceremony

Christopher and Kacie would you please face each other and join your hands.

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love, that hold yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other, today, tomorrow and forever.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future.

These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other.

These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind.

These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and tears of joy.

These are the hands that will support you and give you strength when you need it.

These are the hands that will hold you tight as you struggle through difficult times.

These are the hands that will comfort you when you are sick, or console you when you are grieving.  And lastly these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

Our wish for you today is that both of you will use these hands to build a marriage where all your dreams come true

     Declaration of Intent:
Christopher, do you take this woman to be your wife? Will you strive to love and honor her, will you comfort her and be faithful to her, till death do you part?
    If so, answer  I do.

Kacie, do you take this man to be your husband? Will you strive to love and honor him, will you comfort him and be faithful to him, till death do you part?

    If so, answer  I do.

    Vows

    Christopher please repeat after me:
I, Christopher, choose you, Kacie, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, as long as we both shall live.

    Kacie, please repeat after me:

I, Kacie, choose you, Christopher, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, as long as we both shall live.

    Rings

May I have the rings please?

Notice that these rings are a perfect circle, with no beginning and no end. They represent the unconditional love that you have for one another. Let these rings serve as a bond between you and wear them with honor and pride, as they are a visible reminder of the vows and promises that you will make here today.

Christopher, as you place this ring on Kacie’s finger, repeat after me.

Kacie, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you and a lasting reminder of the vows made between us today.

Kacie, as you place this ring on Christopher’s finger, repeat after me.

Christopher, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you and a lasting reminder of the vows made between us today.

    Engagement Ring

The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. Christopher, place the engagement ring on Kacie’s finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.

May the sacredness of this moment and the vows and rings you have exchanged ever remain as a priceless memory in the heart of each of you.

    Signing of Marriage Certificate

    Sand Ceremony

    Christopher and Kacie,

Before you met, your lives were on separate roads, each going in different directions and seemingly leading to different destinations.  But somewhere along the way, through some twist of fate, you met and fell in love. Today, standing beside the ocean, you find yourselves together at the entrance of a new path, as you promise to forever join your once separate journeys into one.

You have just sealed your marriage by giving and receiving of rings. Although you will be sharing one life, never forget that you are two separate people.  Cherish and affirm your differences.  Love each other. Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. Grow sometimes together, sometimes separately.

To symbolize this union and the importance of the individuals within the marriage, two separate colors of sand will be combined. Each container of sand represents the separate journeys you once were on. In a moment I will ask that you both blend your individual containers of sand together, representing the coming together as husband and wife through your marriage, into one.

I now ask that you blend your containers of sand together.

Christopher and Kacie, as the sand has blended together, your lives are now joined; your separate journeys through life are now one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured into the individual container, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded  together forming one heart, one life, and one family.

    Closing
Christopher and Kacie, remember to give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love you hold for each other, now sealed in marriage, continue to mature with the passing years. May you never take each other for granted, but always experience the wonder of your union. Be slow to anger, quick to forgive, leaving no tracks of resentment behind each day.

We, who are present today, hope that the inspiration of this moment will never be forgotten. May all your days and years to come be filled with vision, joy and passion. May the love you now share continue to grow, and may the happiness you bring to each other be a continuing part of your life together. May you continue to live well, laugh often and love much and enjoy each and every day, believing in yourself and believing in each other. May your love be a sanctuary and a source from which you draw strength to live your lives with enthusiasm and imagination. May the people you touch in your lifetime know how much you love and care for one another and may you love one another forever.

    Presentation of Couple

Christopher and Kacie, you have expressed your love and commitment, and promised each other the joy of all your days before family and friends; along with the sun, the sand, and the sea, it gives me great pleasure to pronounce you as husband and wife.   You may kiss your bride!

Family and friends, it is my honor to present to you for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. ...........

We are getting Married on October 3. SO VERY SOON!! I have so much to do. We are doing a symbolic ceremony. Does anyone know the agenda for this? Do we have readings? Do you do the unity sand thing? We dont want to go with nothing, but I have no idea if the minister they provide just wings it or how it works? A suggested layout would be nice. Thank you!!

We used this doc. and it was perfect.

I would say $100 for the minister and $100 for the coordinator and I wouldn't tip the servers since it is already included in the cost. They charge a 16% gratuity on top of everything
Hello everyone! So things are coming up quickly and we are leaving in 65 days!

I am trying to get the music for the ceremony. What have others chosen for their music? Add how long are the songs?

I'm also trying to sort out the reception timeline...anyone have any tips or what your timelines looked like??

    Thanks!!!

  4. Thanks everyone for all the kind words!

    More planning to come……

I have made additions to the Signature Cocktails and decided to do Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, and Something Blue!

    Drink Signs for Reception

Menu Cards are another addition, with the Buffet Menu and our Signature Drinks on them.

I made 8x10 signs for the cocktails, to let the guests know the ingredients!

The coloring books for the kids are what I seen a lot of people get online; I used the same one and used raffia to tie them together and got the kids crayons from amazon! Just something to keep the little ones busy during dinner!

    Coloring Books

I also picked up some paper straws that are white and pink and plan on using them at the cocktail hour as a personalized touch!

The Best Man and Matron of Honor got Ray Ban Aviators, they were on Hautelook and I got a great deal!

Here are pictures of the bags for the MOB, MOG, and GOG. They turned out nice!

    MOG MOB GOG Bags

Here are my Escort Cards, they are 3-5 inch starfish with raffia ribbons, teal and pink, tied around the starfish with a pearl cardstock printed card with the guests name and table on them!

    Escort Cards

    Escort Card

I used The Knot for our seating chart and it was wonderful, so easy and you can even figure out the whole setup of the reception which I found to be a great help with the wedding planner at Now Jade as well, that way she will know where I want the table numbers to be!

Here are the Tip Envelopes I made.

    Tip Envelope

The Gracias sign we took pictures with at the beach after the wedding.

Here are also some things for my AHR, we are calling it a bridal shower and just inviting both men and women!    It will be in a big white barn, on my parents’ property. It was two weeks prior to our destination wedding.  We handed out all of our gifts at that time, it would be nearly impossible to pack all of our gifts for 80 people without having to take a couple extra suitcases!

    Card Box for Fiesta

    Signs for Fiesta

  5. I ma looking for  deal on a catamaran cruise as well! Let me know if you all have found a great deal in the cancun area.

We are getting a Catamarran cruise for about 40 people through Cancun Catamarran. http://www.catamaranscancun.com/ We are getting the Samba 1, it's not on this website though, it's on here, http://www.sambacatamaranes.com/en/

These both have very reasonable rates and Cancun Catamarran has catering options and open bar at a better rate!!! They also help arrange transportation! Good Luck!

  7. I cannot believe we are less than 3 months away from our destination wedding at Now Jade Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico! The planning has gone by so quickly!! I am finally beginning to feel like I have a lot accomplished, until I look at this site then I feel behind again! Ha-ha!

    HOW WE MET

Christopher and I met in the fall of 2006, when I started as a sophomore in high school. I was 15 and Christopher was 17, a junior in high school. We met one night cosmic bowling with mutual friends at the Bowling Lanes.  A mutual friend, Slade, gave us each other’s numbers and we have been inseparable ever since. We officially starting dating on December 3rd, 2006, so this December will mark 8 years together as a couple!

    OUR ENGAGEMENT

When it happened: Saturday, June 15, 2013

I woke up to a note and a bouquet of flowers sitting on the island in their kitchen. The note read "Kacie, Good Morning Sweetheart! As you can see I did get that switch to the day light shift.  Please do not make any plans for this afternoon! All I can tell you is to sit back, relax, and wait for further instructions.  Love Always, Christopher" Then I received a phone call from Christopher around 2 P.M. and he told her to go downstairs and look in the laundry room cabinet. Another note was placed there with a rose. The note read "Kacie, Hope you had a relaxing morning. This note is to inform you that you should pack an overnight bag with clothes and toiletries for the Pittsburgh area. Once again, after you have that finished sit back, relax, and wait for further instructions. Love Always, Christopher" I thought that, that was the last note and he was going to meet me at home and take me out to Pittsburgh for the night but that wasn't the case. Christopher then called again shortly after 5 P.M. to tell me to go out to the shed and look down to my left. Here I found yet another note! The note read "Kacie, This is the final note for the day. By now you should be all packed up, relaxed, and ready for the Burgh. Now comes the test! Come find me. Do not cheat and use your phone! You should know this; meet me where we first met, leave now! Hurry, Hurry, Hurry! Time is of the essence! Love Always, Christopher" I then drove to the Bowling Lanes where Christopher got down on one knee and proposed. I said 'Yes!' and now we are planning a destination wedding!

    Engagement

    THE RING

The diamond is actually the center diamond to my grandmother’s ring. Chris had me pick out the setting to set the diamond in since it had such a special meaning. This is what I picked; it was designed especially for us! The picture has the wedding band on as well! I love it!

    My Ring with Wedding Band

    NOW JADE RESORT

The hardest part of the planning process was picking my resort. My sister got married at Dreams Palm Beach in Punta Cana in 2011, and it was gorgeous! That is when I knew that I was going to have a destination wedding, as well. However, that also means the pressure was on for mine to be just as nice! So, I did a lot of research on the price, location, wedding services, and I came upon Now Jade and fell in love! As you all know, there are so many conflicting reviews about every resort! It is so challenging to go with one without visiting, when my sister picked hers she was never there before and I found that to be crazy but then I did the same! My fiancé and I did, however, visit Now Jade in November 2013, after we already had around 60 people booked! We loved the resort and were very happy about our choice, luckily! The food was amazing, the beach was gorgeous, the pools were awesome, the bars were great, and the rooms were really nice! My biggest concern was food because at Dreams in Punta Cana a lot of her guests got sick, including me, and I didn't want that to happen at my wedding. Although, I am sure someone will have some complaints, they always do! In addition to the great food, I loved the garden area for our reception, and the beach for the ceremony!

    TRAVEL AGENT

We choose the local travel agent that works with Apple Vacations, who also did my sister’s wedding. The rates we got for direct flight, round trip airport transfers to the hotel, and hotel were $1449 per person for 7 nights! I also had an option of 5 days, 4 nights for $1049 per person, which I thought were both very affordable rates for the package! Children under 12 were about $200 less on each package. We have filled all the spots that we had held for guests which bring us to about 80 guests!

    ASKING OUR WEDDING PARTY

We simply sent these cards in the mail to our bridal party and most of them called to respond or sent us a text accepting! We had one groomsmen so far that informed us after he accepted that he could no longer make it and I believe that deserves great respect because a lot of people would just avoid you and not tell you until it was too late, but I respect him for giving us a great amount of time to ask another person.

    TO THE GROOMSMEN:

    Pack up your bags,

    Let’s head to the beach.

Have a drink and some sunscreen,

    Well within reach.

    The crystal blue waters,

    The warm Mexican sun.

    A wedding in paradise,

    A week full of fun.

    In just eleven short months,

    I’ll be marrying my bride.

    Nothing would make me happier,

Than to have you by my side.

    TO THE FLOWER GIRLS:

I got these barefoot sandals for the ceremony and then I am going to change into flip flops for the reception in the garden.

My earrings are borrowed from my sister; she had ordered them for her wedding and did not wear them.

The garter also came from Etsy, again with the lace detail.

    MY BRIDESMAID DRESSES

I chose four different dresses by Mori Lee for my 9 bridesmaids.  I left them pick the one that they wanted out of all four, it came out fairly even. I picked the Turquoise color but it is darker than normal turquoise and more elegant looking, in my opinion!

    WEDDING INVITATION

Below is a link to the design we used, I received so many samples from many different websites before deciding to use this one! I am very happy with my choice, it is a beautiful invitation and I got it at a pretty decent price with coupon codes. I would highly recommend ordering samples of invitations because they always send coupons for future orders, and if you are inviting a lot of people, it’s a great discount!

    OOT BAGS

We got bags at Silk Letter and tumbler Cups at Silk Letter and they are both great quality! I didn’t really have a ‘logo’ like some brides do; I just went with a palm tree and our names. The bags are good quality for the beach and we went with the natural color just in case if it would get wet the water wouldn’t make the color fade. The cups are a lighter plastic then normal tumbler cups, but they seem pretty durable and the lids snap on instead of screw on, so they are really easy to use because I always have trouble with the screw on lids working correctly.

    OOT Bag & Contents

    https://www.silkletter.com/bags/tote-bags/imprinted-colored-cotton-tote-bag.html

I got 55 bags for $187.55 and 55 cups for $303.95. We ordered different cups and bags for our wedding party.

    OOT Cup

    https://www.silkletter.com/drinkware/travel-cups-mugs-1/plastic-travel-mugs-tumblers/custom-logo-16-oz-economy-double-wall-tumbler.html

Also, in the bags we are putting a note in the cups, shown below, with our favorite drinks. I thought it was an inexpensive personal touch! A lip balm, with 15 SPF is also in each of the cups. I got the lip balm from The Knot.

    http://weddingshop.theknot.com/personalized-lip-balm-tube-favors.aspx

Luggage tags were placed on the handles of the bags, as well. For couples, I just did one bag with two cups and an extra luggage tag inside, because I figured most men won’t use a bag.

I ordered the luggage tags from: http://www.specialistid.com/Rigid_Plastic_Luggage_Tag_Holder_p/1840-620x.htm

I got the clear ones, they came with the address side of the tag and I ordered Avery labels to put our ‘logo’ on the opposite side, as shown here.

The Avery labels I used were: Avery Name Badge Inserts, 2.25 x 3.5 Inches, Box of 400 (05390). I will attach the format I used to print these. I went with black and white to stay neutral and not too flashy.

    Luggage Tag Making

    Luggage Tag

I got the labels on Amazon for $14.99 and I got 85 luggage tag holders for $59.56.  So I spent $0.88 per luggage tag, which was great!

For new travelers I provided a brochure from Vistaprint, they turned out nice, and they also come folded, if you are wondering! If you want the info in a word

document I have it, just ask! I ordered 100 and they were $42.40, with a coupon.

We are giving these the guests at our couple’s bridal shower two weeks before departure, to save us the hassle of transporting all that stuff to the resort.

    CHAIR SASH AND TABLE OVERLAYS

Instead of worrying about if the colors were going to match or if they will have enough I went ahead and ordered sashes and table overlays to take with us. The color we are using for the girls dresses is unique but I found it on Wedding Linens Direct.

    TABLE NUMBERS

Since Chris and I have been together for a little more than 7 years and we are having 7 tables at our reception I decide to put a picture of us from that year in our relationship coordinating with the table. I ordered these Tolsby picture frames on eBay for the table numbers, and used my cricut to put numbers on the bases.

  8. Some ideas:

X, do you accept Y to be your wife, to love and to cherish, to share your dreams, successes, and challenges; in plenty and in want, in triumph and in failure, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live? (I Do)

Y, do you accept X to be your wife, to love and to cherish, to share your dreams, successes, and challenges; in plenty and in want, in triumph and in failure, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live? (I Do)

The vows which you will exchange will serve as a verbal representation of the love you pledge to each other. It is not the words that you will speak today which will bond you together as one, but the inner sense of love and commitment that each of you feel within your heart.

    X, please repeat after me:

    I, X, take you Y,

To be my wife, best friend, and lover.

Together we will dream, play and experience.

When you stumble, I will restore you.

    Throughout my life,

I promise to cherish and respect you,

    To comfort and encourage you,

    And to stay with you,

As long as we both live.

    Y, please repeat after me:

    I, Y, take you X,

To be my husband, best friend, and lover.

Together we will dream, play and experience.

When you stumble, I will restore you.

    Throughout my life,

I promise to cherish and respect you,

    To comfort and encourage you,

    And to stay with you,

As long as we both live.

These rings are a symbol of your everlasting love and the vows of commitment you have made today.

X, placing the Ring on Y's finger, repeat after me. With this ring, I pledge to you my unconditional love.

    (repeat)

    I like this!

Here are our vows, they may help you! I borrowed most of the ideas from others on here and put peices together to make it our own.

    Opening

Good afternoon, we meet here today surrounded by the beautiful ocean and blue sky to celebrate one of lifeâ€s most joyous occasions and to give recognition to the worth and beauty of love and to add our best wishes to the words which shall unite M and J in marriage.  In the years they have been together, their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured, and now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife.

On behalf of M and J, I welcome you and thank you all for gathering here on this beautiful day to witness their marriage ceremony. The fact that you all have travelled such a great distance to be here today is a testament to the amazing amount of love and support they have.

The marriage between M and J does not mark the beginning of a new relationship; rather, it is an acknowledgement and celebration of a relationship that has been flourishing since they met.

Love is the longing two people feel for one another. It is the need to share, in body and spirit, the warmth, serenity and peace two people can give to one another. A simple touch, a hand held at a time of uncertainty.  Love is lifeâ€s highest emotion.

M and J, you have chosen to walk through life together. There is no truer statement of love. The choice was not made by any one moment, but by being together you grew to realize that you belonged together and that you fulfilled each otherâ€s needs. You have come to thrive upon each otherâ€s presence, loyalty and wisdom. The foundation of your love is profound friendship. A friendship you have nurtured until at last you realized that you wanted to be together always. The commitment you make today will be the foundation on which you will build your life together.

    Hand Ceremony

M and J would you please face each other and join your hands.

M, do you take this woman to be your wife? Will you strive to love and honor her, will you comfort her and be faithful to her, till death do you part?

    If so, answer  “I doâ€.

J, do you take this man to be your husband? Will you strive to love and honor him, will you comfort him and be faithful to him, till death do you part?

    If so, answer  “I doâ€.

    Vows

    M please repeat after me:

I, M, choose you, J, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better,  for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, as long as we both shall live.

    J, please repeat after me:

I, J, choose you, M, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and cherish, as long as we both shall live.

    Rings

May I have the rings please.

Notice that these rings are a perfect circle, with no beginning and no end. They represent the unconditional love that you have for one another. Let these rings serve as a bond between you and wear them with honor and pride, as they are a visible reminder of the vows and promises that you will make here today.

M, as you place this ring on J finger, repeat after me.

J, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you and a lasting reminder of the vows made between us today.

J, as you place this ring on M finger, repeat after me.

M, I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment to you and a lasting reminder of the vows made between us today.

    Engagement Ring

The engagement ring is a symbol of promise and intention. Now the intention is realized and the promise fulfilled. M, place the engagement ring on J finger over her wedding band to symbolize that the love that brought you together will always protect and sustain your marriage.

May the sacredness of this moment and the vows and rings you have exchanged ever remain as a priceless memory in the heart of each of you.

    Signing of Marriage Certificate

    Sand Ceremony

    M and J,

M and J, as the sand has blended together, your lives are now joined; your separate journeys through life are now one. Just as these grains of sand can never be serperated and poured into the individual container, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded  together forming one heart, one life, and one family.

    Closing

M and J, remember to give to one another new experiences of joy. Challenge one another so that you may grow. May the love you hold for each other, now sealed in marriage, continue to mature with the passing years. May you never take each other for granted, but always experience the wonder of your union. Be slow to anger, quick to forgive, leaving no tracks of resentment behind each day.

We who are present today, hope that the inspiration of this moment will never be forgotten.

M and J, you have expressed your love and commitment, and promised each other the joy of all your days before family and friends; along with the sun, the sand, and the sea, it gives me great pleasure to pronounce you as husband and wife.

    You may kiss your bride!

Family and friends, it is my honor to present to you for the very first time, Mr. and Mrs. M and J xxxx.

THIS IS PERFECT!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

  9. Hey everyone!

After a lot of LONG hours, self-teaching myself how to use In Design, and many, MANY drafts, I finally finished (and am REALLY happy with) my pre-travel brochures. I wanted all of my stationary to co-ordinate (go here to see my wedding invitations: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/71644/my-gorgeous-letterpress-wedding-invitations-lots-of-pics), so I opted to design the brochure myself rather than go with something off of VistaPrint. My brochures were designed and printed by ME, and all of my fonts and graphics are consistent with the rest of my wedding stationary.

I purchased the kraft envelopes and cream paper from Staples and the wrap-around labels are the same template on In Design that my stationary designer sent me. The luggage tags would not have been possibly without the help of another Calgary bride (BeachBrideSoon), who sold me her extra tags. I whipped up a simple document with pictures of Los Cabos on InDesign, and again, used the same fonts (which are Jane Austen and Mrs Eaves Small Caps). I laminated the luggage tags at work, and my FI and I put everything together in an evening. A last minute addition we made was the "Pack This" lists, that I picked up at Chapters.

I'm super-excited for my guests to receive these in the mail! Next task = wedding programs. Stay tuned!

I am also having the same problem.....we have 80 people and counting right now and i am getting scared, money wise haha.

I am also considering the buffet, and also for the fact of the portions for the plated dinner don't seem all that large and i would hate to pay that much money per plate and have guests (and myself) still hungry!

I also did not want to chance the resort photographer! we also hired an outside one and so far i am super glad with that decision, i think you will be too!

I believe it is the same cost to have the buffet as it is the sit down meal, just more options, and more food.

    Hello!

My name is Umi and I am getting married at the Now Jade resort on June 1, 2012….only two months away! I found this website towards the beginning of my planning last july 2011 and am so glad I did! Although I have not been posting much I have found so much helpful insight in how to plan my wedding and I feel like it is my turn to give back! Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and I will try my best to answer them. I will try to post a review upon my return!

    Location: Now Jade Resort

    Arriving: May 29 – June 3

    Wedding Meeting: May 30

Wedding Coordinator: Used to be Ana Maria now I believe it is Pilar

    Wedding Package: Divine

    Wedding Date: June 1, 2012

    Wedding colors: Aqua and coral

    Wedding Guests: 45

Ceremony Time/Location: 4:00pm at the Pergola

Cocktail Hour: 5:00- 6:00pm at the Blue Beach Bar

Reception: 6:00-10:00pm at the Bamboo Room

    Booking

The most stressful point for us was deciding on a travel agent and picking the resort.  Although I have always booked ALL of my trips on my own I knew from the beginning that I wanted to go through a travel agent to book our wedding.  Although I love our family and friends I did not want to be the one they all came to to help book their trips!

We went to a local travel agent and I was not happy with the experience so I decided to do more research online. That is where I came across this website! I found good reviews about the travel agents on this website and figured I would shoot them an e-mail. I got a quick response from Wendy Hicks.  We talked over the phone she was so friendly and so informative! I was a little worried at first knowing she was all the way on the west coast! But once we spoke over the phone it was smooth sailing from then on! And seeing as all of our guests were from all over and would be booking either through e-mail or by phone anyways the location didnâ€t really matter.

Wendy helped me decide on my wedding location and honeymoon location. She explained the differences between group rates and individual bookings.  We decided to go with her and she set up a contract for us.  My guests have had nothing but pleasant experiences with her since the beginning of our booking! She literally gets back to your e-mail within the hour if not sooner! She also set up our transportation to and from the resort for all of our guests! One less thing to worry about!

    Travel

Since the centerpieces I liked were over $250 per piece I decided to go and make them myself! I have made my own centerpieces with tall clear cylinder vases with dark branches and floating orchids in water.  Surrounding the tall vase we will have mini cylinder vases with floating orchids and floating candles. Very simple but elegant! I will post pictures bellow.  If anyone would like me to keep them there we can negotiate a price so you can have them for your wedding!

We are going to be bringing these all the way there and am crossing my fingers everything gets past customs!!! We are bringing may things! We have our centerpieces, all of our OOT bags with many things in them, props for our photo booth, messages in a bottle for our guests seating, Menu cards, programs, our wedding attire…..and the list goes on! I told all of my family members to pack light because half of their suitcase is mine cheesy.gif

    OOT Bags

I purchased blank tote bags from Cheaptotes.com and the designed a Riviera Maya, Mexico image to iron on our bags. I didnâ€t want to put our names or date on it because I wanted this to be a souvenir that people can use after the wedding.

    In the OOT Bags are:

    -mini sun block from target

-mini aloe after the sun lotion from Harmon

    -hand sanitizer from Dollar Tree

-Drink/ coffee mugs from Dollar Tree

-coil wrist bands with clear pouch to hold key

-rescue kit with toothbrush, tooth paste, tide cleaner, sewing kit, q-tips, advil, tums...

    -beach ball

    -welcome brochure

-description card of restaurant/bars on the resort

    -we survived the wedding! magnet

-flip flop playing cards and notepad

    Bridal Party Gifts

    Groomsman:

We ordered each groomsman a personalized Yankees jersey with their last name on it and my fiancé is taking them to a game.

    Bridesmaids:

-I got them each a tote bag in their favorite color.

-necklaces made on etsy with their initial and a starfish with an aqua and coral bead.

    -sun screen

    -bathing suit

    -Turkish towel wrap

    -beach hat

    -beach cover ups

     Rehearsal Dinner

We have not finalized this yet but we are looking to have a rehearsal cocktail hour in one of the lounge areas instead of a private sit down dinner just to save some money. $15 per person appose to $22 per person  (not too big of a difference but everything adds up!).

    Wedding Ceremony

Our ceremony is at 4:00 and here are our plans for the day:

11:30-1:10 Hair/Makeup appointment (they said it should take about an 1 hour and 40 min.)

1:15-2:15 Pictures of bride getting ready with bridesmaids

2:15-3:00 Pictures of groom with groomsman

    3:00-3:30 First glance pictures

    3:30-4:00 Guests are being seated

    4:00-4:30 Ceremony at the Pergola

    4:30-5:00 Group pictures

5:00-6:00 Cocktail hour at the Blue Beach Bar

6:00-10:00 Reception at the Bamboo room

10:00- after party at the club!

Since the divine package includes a bouquet for the bride and 2 boutonnieres for the groomsman and 2 corsages I will be using that as my bouquet and giving the other flowers to our parents. I made my own bouquets and boutonnieres for the bridal party.

I did not like the generic look of the white covers on the chairs so we are getting the white tiffany chairs. We will be using an ipod for the music during the ceremony.

    Wedding Cocktail Hour

For the cocktail hour we are using the Caribbean trio as part of our divine package. I designed a picture book for guests to sign instead of a plain guest book.

We chose these four hor de ouvres:

    1.Beef Brochettes

    2.Chicken and cheese turnovers

    3.Spinach quiche

4.mini vol au vent with seafood

    Wedding Reception

I hired one of my friends who is a wedding photographer to do our wedding.  He did our engagement pictures and he is awesome! He does destination weddings if you would like more info let me know!

I am a graphic designer so I pretty much designed everything for our wedding cheesy.gif I made the save the dates, invitations, and programs for the wedding.  We are doing message in a bottles for the seating. Each table is a destination we have been to together as a couple. On each table I have a big cylinder vase with floating orchids and branches (very whimsical but elegant!) surrounding the big vase I have 5 small vases with floating orchids and a floating candle. We are using aqua table clothes. As party favors, I designed a picture frame that says our name, date and destination.  I also got a Polaroid camera with many props for guests to take pictures at our photo booth! We wanted to have fun at our wedding with lots of dancing without having to worry about making the announcements or trying to get an ipod to play so we are going with the resort dj for 4 hours.

    Menu:

Salad: Royal Mixed Salad with Bluefin Tuna Sashimi

    Soup: Lobster Bisque

Entrée: Beef Fillet and Shrimp or Yellow Tail Tuna Steak or

Penne pasta en salsa de tomate y albahaca con vegetales

Desert: CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE WITH BAILYS SAUCE and wedding cake

We are spending 5 days at the Now Jade and then we are going to Maroma Beach for another 5 days for our honeymoon.

I am so excited and canâ€t wait for it to get hear already! Let me know if you have any questions!

    Umi
