Thankfully I didnt gain anything. I maintained. But i noticed my muslce that I had kinda deminished, and it was just skin. Its just a a matter of getting motivated again. Sometimes Its hard, but it will happen, Just say  I WILL do 30 mins of cardio today. I will lift my weights or hit the gym.

I honestly dont go to a gym. I have free weights in my basement that I use for my strength. and I download workout videos Ex turbo jam, turbo fire, p90 x etc. Or i go roller blading with the dog, or for walks with her.

Im going camping this weekend, so weights and roller blades arent accessable, but i am going to go for long walks around the campground, go for hikes, walk to the cliffs instead of drive. Maybe use the water and do some body resistance training in there like squats and tricep dips. Its easier but still works. Long as you are moving you are burning ! :)

You will get out of the slump :)

Thanks.. I feel that there is so much time before the wedding, that I have the mentality that it isn't necessary yet to push myself. When I start my new job, I think I am going to be able to quit the one I usually do in evenings, so I will actually have time to do more things to stay active. It's also an hour walk to work so I may do that in the mornings (it may also help with me waking up). If I can learn how to rollerblade confidently and how to stop when going down hills lol, maybe I can rollerblade to work!

I'm going camping too! spending days at the beach with my FI's son and our families will be together as well. It should be interesting, but we are bringing the dogs, so lots of opportunitites to take them for walks :) I'm sure I'll get lots of exercise chasing around a toddler all week lol

(sorry for the individual responses instead of multi quote.. I'm also attempting to reach 150 posts lol)

My FI and I were joking this morning that it's the end of June already and that means that summer's almost over in Edmonton.

yeah.. definitely the worst summer we've had here since the 6 years I have been living here... summer is almost over here too :( It sucks. I usually have a sweet tan by now lol.. but combine working inside, and no sun for the majority of days and you've got a shitty summer.

It's Joe Cross, from the documentary Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. I saw it a while ago on Netflix and always thought about juicing. Having an upcoming wedding defnieitly made me actually do it haha

I'll have to look into it!

  4. I'm not going to lie, I feel like I have been slacking. I am still trying to eat healthy and portion control, but the gym has not seen my ass all week long. I am feeling quite stressed about a lot of things and therefore making excuses to not workout. I finish my job today and will start my new job July 15. I have a 2 week period where I am going camping with my FI and his son and spend some quality time with family so who knows what will happen. I am changing locations for work, so I will not have access to the gym. i'm thinking of joining the gym with some friends, but can't justify the money even though it's cheaper than going to a big name gym. blah. The weather also isn't helping to motivate me.. it's so shitty here. I need motivation!!

We are planning to get married some time in 2015 and have our wedding somewhere between Cancun and Tulum. We have been to Dominican Republic and fell in love with the Caribbean waters. I always say it's never too early to plan something especially when there's a tight budget involved.

Thank you everyone for sharing your knowledge and resources on this forum.

For sure! It's definitely never too early! It just gives you more time to check out your options and really find ways to cut costs and find what you really want! happy planning!

  6. I've cpmpletely fallen behind on posting haha. I still have some ways to go until 150! but I can do this lol. Oh no! I'm glad you got everything figured out! I'm really hoping that I won't have to change my dates at all since we already have our save-the-dates. But with it being so far away.. it could definitely happen :S

BFFM is burn the fat feed the muslce. Its a competition I joined with a friend of mine. Basicaly eating and working out to burn the fat off your body and gain lean muscle etc.

eating the right amount of carbs protein and fats and enough calories that your body isnt starving

oh right! i still am meaning to look into that book lol. That's awesome :) good luck!

Well I am back from Vegas baby!!! Got a pretty sweet tan :) I weighed myself this morning and im only up about half a pound from before leaving for vegas so for me thats a WIN! I really made concious efforts to watch what I was eating while I was there, plus walking for miles on end helped alot :)

Now on to my BFFM plan as I signed up for that competition and I would like to succeed at it!!!

Hope you all are doing good :P

I'm glad Vegas was awesome! I'm uber jealous you went and good job on only going up .5 pounds! That's the hardest thing while on vacation.. the drinking and the indulging.. congrats :) what is BFFM?

haha yeah. It will be interesting to see if they respond. I am adding a little thing on our save the dates that says " If you have any questions or if you already know if you will be joining us in the sun, or sending your best wishes from home, don't hesitate to let us know" in hopes that we may get a better idea even before we send out the actual invite.

    yaaaaaaaaaay! good job :)

I tried this "military" diet thing for like a day and a half.. but I got real cranky AND I cried at work lol... so I had to stop it.  I'm just trying to keep the portions down and make healthy choices.  I don't think I've lost any lbs in a while but maybe the muscle is part of that.

Two days short of 5 months until the wedding.... it's getting to be a little scary!!!

hahah even looking at what the army diet was made me miserable. There is no way I could survive on that diet.. so I didn't even attempt! it took me 7 months of going to the gym to start seeing any type of weight loss... and even at that, I have lost 3 pounds... everyone says it's because I was building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat blah blah.. I hated hearing it because I was so unmotivated with not seeing weight loss results.. It is so hard to be on a diet because I spend so little time at home and therefore usually buy a lot of my lunches.. but I have been trying to buy smaller portions and lighter options..

Exactly! Plus, my dad is actually a professional photographer, and even though I told him not to worry about taking pictures, I have no doubts that he will be snapping pics of us at the reception haha. He will probably monitor people during the ceremony so they don't ruin pictures. Most of my friends and guests are pretty understanding. And with a destination wedding, you have less of a chance of having those pesky eunts and uncles getting in the way, since I'm not really inviting many of them haha. I feel awful saying that but it is what it is :)

haha exactly. Don't feel awful for saying that... I am only inviting them because I feel like  I have to. There are only a few that I actually want there, but if the others find out that they didn't get invited while a few did.. watch out. haha.. I doubt many of them will actually come (at least I'm hoping) because they are much older on my dad's side and on my mom's side I only have one I am super close with. But with my luck, they will all say yes haha

It's much closer to the US and flights are cheaper plus we absolutely love it so it just seemed like a good decision. It was hard for us because we completely fell in love with Roatan, it truly is paradise and we're actually considering it for our honeymoon or for a vow renewal but it will always remain dear to our hearts. We're planning on putting down a deposit this fall for our date of June 25, 2015, we couldn't be more excited!! Now just to decide which resort is the most affordable and the best fit for our family. Hopefully we'll have STDs out by January.

that's a hard decision to make :( Punta Cana is absolutely beautiful.. we had to make the same type of decision because we wanted Punta Cana but the resort we fell in love with was just too expensive and I didn't feel comfortable asking my family to spend that much... we have decided to have our wedding at a beautiful resort in Cuba and we will hopefully get to Punta cana for our honeymoon.. that way it is only us spending the money and not everyone else. Good luck with the resort search!! It was fun and stressful all at the same time.

that's a good idea! That's why you have a professional photographer with you... I would be pretty angry if I have random people standing in the pictures trying to get their own shots while we are paying good money for a professional to do them for us... I understand everyone wants pictures but thats why you make a public album online for people to view and order/print from.

I have never read this happening to anyone else except that one post that I think was from 2007. Not to worry it's false anyway :) BUT if you want to be reassured I suggest you email your wedding co-ordinator and get an answer in writing so that you can have it with you when you go.

    Happy Planning

thanks so much!!! I see your wedding is super soon! how exciting :) Good luck!!

Now when I can see templates I havent found anything that I like! Have an idea what type of invites I want and havent seen any templates that match that. Think I might just go ahead and order from zazzle, dont really need that many! As for all the other stuff, there are some cool things, such a bunch of creative ladies here!, but again, dont think I have the time to be crafty ;)

lol gah! well at least you are finding some cool things.. I hate when I get an idea in my head and then can find nothing to go with it! I just had that dilemma while looking for a palm tree paper puncher... all the obvious places didn't carry them and I didn't have the time or patience to look online lol so I changed my idea and it's actually so much better than using the paper puncher! So sometimes having to be a bit more creative in the thinking process is good.. and ordering from somewhere is always a good option when you don't have much time!

  18. hey ladies

I'm getting married January 2015 and this is the newest thread for Melia Las Dunas I could find! I think my FI and I have agreed that this is the place we are getting married. I have found the people on the "Melia Las Dunas Brides" facebook page to be SOOOOOO helpful with the details, but I am wondering if anyone on here has found anything about the photographer they use or the fees associated with bringing our own?

LOL it is something to work towards! wow a graphic designer... that means you are completely computer saavy! haha... I'm practically a second grader when it comes to computers... It's embarassing. it took me forever to figure out how to properly use the template I found online and even still, I think that there is a way faster way to do things that I can't even think of.
