By ammenities do you mean the wedding packages? We chose the complimentary package and it comes with all the stuff listed on the website.  My travel agent got them to confirm that we have the skyterrace for the ceremony and the south sky terrace for the reception.  We have reached the 75+ room nights as well so we have access to the free ulimited private events deal which is super awesome!

My wedding planner is Alejandra Muniz and I have it in writing from them that the outside vendor fee will be $500...Its still high but much better than $800! That is just getting outrageous

Oh my gosh, same with ours! lol. But honestly I would rather put most of my money into the photos that are going to last forever. Also the sky terrace areas dont need much decoration since the scenery and location is so beautiful on its own! Don and I are doing the complimentary package for the ceremony and then just keeping things reallllly simple for the reception with soft ambient lighting and white linens and the hanging lanterns. My theory is no one is going to remember the color of the napkins, chair covers and huge centerpieces so why waste the money on that sort of stuff! lol

As an update on my earlier post, my travel agent was able to get sunwing to honor the early booking bonus of the every 11th person booked free deal so my fiance and my trip is paid for which is awesome!  Very good of Sunwing too and I actually have to give kudos to my travel agent for makeing it happen....I was not a happy customer lol.  Our released flight times with Sunwing are amazing (leaving early in the morning, direct flights both ways and leving mid afternoon on the way home...cant get much better than that so I really hope they dont change.  I cant imagine them cancelling the flight since we have 26 people booked on it...

I think Sunwing in the past has a really bad reputation but to be honest most of the recent stuff I have heard from people online and friends personal experiences, they have never had issues....so fingers crossed!

So ladies we took the plunge and have officially just paid our deposit and signed the contract with Del Sol for photography.  From the first moment I saw their photos I was in love.  I am thrilled to finally have a big detail like this locked down.  Makes the wedding seem much more real now!! lol

I am booked with Sunwing Vacations through my travel agent at Marlin Travel.  We got a really good group rate at about $1500-$1800/week staying at Beach Palace in cancun.  Our flight times look realy good (just hope they dont change!!!) and so far no real hiccups with any of my group booking or making adjustments to their hotel rooms and trip length (Some are staying for 2 weeks)

The only HUGE issue that I am super furious about is the fact that when I initially contacted Sunwin for a quote it said:

"BOOK BY OCTOBER 31, 2013: One complimentary adult for every 10 adult booked (11th adult is complimentary) at BEACH PALACE - CC DLX RST VIEW AI for the same package, dates and duration, lowest room category, excluding taxes. Maximum 4 complimentary"

When I decided to go with a travel agent i sent her this quote and she was able to secure the same pricing and everything.

But now....6 months later, my travel agent tells me that the group booking deal we are eligible is "the 11th person booked is free" not EVERY 11th...which was what I was initially told.  This means my fiance and I suddenly have to add almost $2000 onto our wedding budget because it looks like we now have to pay for one of our trips...even though we have 26 people booked.  I am PISSED. 
The Travel agent said that booking directly with Sunwing gets you a better deal????  That makes no sense to me...why would anyone use a travel agent then....

Well I raised a huge fus and she is going to talk with Sunwing.  Its been two weeks now and now word from my travel agent.  I tried calling Sunwing but they said I have to get my info from my travel agent and they cant help me.  It is ridiculously frusterating....especially since this could have been avoided by a) my travel agent telling me from the start and Just booking directly with Sunwing to save ourselves nearly $2000.....

I am hoping that I can finally get in contact with a rep at Sunwing and try to get them to honor my origininal booking bonus deal but I kind of have the feeling that we are hooped.

This is totally off topic but we are booked with Sunwing Vacations and at first when I was in the initial stages of planning I was going to not use a Travel Agent and jsut handle it all myself (Being the Group Booking Contact)...I got a quote from Sunwing and all looked good..to top it off they had a "every 11th person booked is free" deal so that potentially meant my fiance and I would be getting our trip covered if we had enough people.  Then I decided it was a bit much to take on the booking stuff myself so I hired my Travel Agent....Well I spoke to her numerous times about the "Every 11th person free" deal and making sure we paid the deposits in time to snag the deal.....Well we did book in time and I even brought it up again within the last few months.  Suddenly a few weeks ago I was chatting with her and brough up how we get our deposits refunded later since we had enough people to make use of the deal...."Oh, you know its only the 11th person not every 11th".  She was totally WRONG since I even had the Sunwing quote handy. Well apparently she says that Sunwing sometimes doesnt offer the same deals and booking with them directly and that the deal she is able to make use of is only the 11th person, not every 11th!  WTF....Friggen hell, I would have totally would have taken on the group booking role if I knew it was going to save myself $2000!  I am so mad.  Sorry for the rant, had to get that off my chest because talking about my travel agent reminded me all about it.  Arg!

Does Beach Palace charge $500 outside vendor fee for photographers?  Or were people able to get away with the Day Pass?

I have my heart set on Del Sol but an additional $500 ontop of the cost of their expensive (But sooo worth it) photography services is just stretching my budget a bit beyond its limit...

Hi Christine! My fiance don and I are getting married at Beach Palace on May 10, 2014!  Our travel dates are May 7-14, 2014.  We have 24 guests who have confirmed and paid their deposits with the travel agent.  I am so excited!!  I think we qualify for the unlimited events which is awesome....just need to find out more info on all that and how it works.  I also just sent my request to Del Sol photograpy today to book them for our date so I hope that all gets locked down soon.  Their work is absolutely amazing!

What are all you plans? That is awesome you are going for a site visit.  please post photos!!
