I am in need of help, I have not booked a photographer yet, everyone I have looked at seems really expensive. Can you guys recommend a good photographer?

Hi CoEr, I am also booked for MDC for June 10, 2014, and I elected the all inclusive package. My sister in law got married in Jamaica at Coyabo in Montego Bay in 2008, and the she did not have an all inclusive package, so we had to pay out of pocket for our food and drinks. The resort was a little pricey and a lot of the guests ventured off the resort to get cheaper food. So I decided that I did not want that, and that it would be easier for guests if we chose the all inclusive package.

Hi Carrie13, I am so excited about starting the actual planning process! I agree, having the wedding at a later time will definitely help with dealing with the heat! I haven't booked any services yet. I have received about two emails from Kerry who is going to be my wedding coordinator at MDC. She has been really proactive so far, which is a great sign. She recently sent me a time line of what services I should be booking. In the email she also included different vendors that MDC works with. I have to start looking at different vendors to see who has the best prices, Kerry mentioned Paul Dilworth with Illusion Sound as the dj, but I will definitely look into other dj's to compare prices. I have been looking at save the dates, and we think that we found one on weddingpaperdivas. We bought a sample card to see how it looks, and if we love it we will go ahead with it! I am starting to feel like, I have time, but I need to make sure I stay to my time line! Are you feeling pressure yet?

Hi Carrie13, Thanks for the save the date info, I will check out the site! I am so excited that you chose MDC for June, I just put in my deposit with them for June 10, 2014. Congratulations to you on your engagement, and picking your venue! I am excited to share notes with you! I have been to Jamaica, twice and the last time I was there was for a wedding in August, and it was terribly unbearable! The bride did provide fans for everyone, which was helpful! Cherina gave a good idea about a late wedding. My fiance and I have been talking about his suit and he is worried about the heat in June. I hope this helps!

I love that my Fiance and I have a 3 year old, and I want her to help me pick my dress, and I am thinking I will have him walk down with her instead of being the flower girl.

Hi Jinele, I have been working with destinationweddings.com, and I started with them because my fiance's sister originally used them for her wedding. As a guest in her wedding, they were wonderful and I enjoyed my experience. So when I got engaged and we decided on a destinaiton wedding I knew I would use destinationweddings.com. So far it's ok. Like Cherina posted they do not help you with planning, that was my mistake. They did give me suggesstions on resorts in Jamaica, but I had to do a lot of my own research and reach out. My TA, has not been getting back to me as soon as I like, but I am trying to just go with it for now. If it really get's to me I will ask for another TA, but so far, I have not complaints regarding destinaitonsweddings.com. My fiance's sister also loved her experience with them, I hope that helps!
