  1. Hi, My name is Sara, my fiancé Mike and I are getting married at the GBP Akumal this November. We haven't talked to our wedding planner Eugenia much since we booked, so I decided to contact her about our photos. Our good friends have a time share in Mexico and as our wedding gift they offered to be our photographer. When I email Eugenia and told her she said they could come to our wedding using a $90 day pass but that the studio has exclusivity rights. I think this is a complete ploy to get us to spend money on their photographer, which we never had any intentions of doing. I have went through all of our emails fom booking until now and nothing told us we were locked to the resort studio. Our friends offering to do our photos was a big reason why we chose the Mayan. Is there any way around this? Are they going to stop them from taking our photos? Thanks for your help, Sara
  2. Hey, So I just want to say that this site is fantastic and loaded with useful information, thank you so much for everyones help so far. I do have a question though, I am getting married November 2013 at the GBP Akumal, as of now we really haven't done a whole lot of interacting with Eugenia our wedding coordinator, but recently I started talking to her about our photos. Our close friends have a time share in the Mayan and said that they would come do our photos as our wedding gift, which I didn't think would be a big deal. Eugenia said that we could get them a $90 day pass and they could come to the wedding but that they couldn't take our pictures because Arrecife Studio has exclusivity rights. This feels like a complete ploy to get us to spend money on their overpriced and from what I've read, intrusive and poor quality photgrapher. I told Eugenia that they can take their 10 photos but we never had any intention of going with their studio, and I wish I would have known from the begining that this was going to be an issue. I have looked through all our booking e-mails and see no where where it says this, in all honestly the paperwork has been very broad. Is there any way around this, and are they really going to stop our friends at our wedding from taking photos? Thanks! Sara
