Hi! We are getting married on the beach. I was originally going to do the Gazebo but I did hear that it is near everything and not that private. We also have 10 bridesmaids/groomsmen and over 60 people coming and I think that area is too small for that big of a group. All of our guests have booked at the Palace. Our wedding isnt until Nov 11th = )

Hello, Has anyone heard if you get 25 rooms booked, the 26th is free? I think I have seen some people talk a bit about this. Does anyone know if this is a discount from BARCELO or is this set with through your travel agent? I have some people booking online for the wedding and others are going through our travel agent. Our travel says we only get the discount if we book through HER and not with BARCELO direct. Does anyone know?

Im not too happy about having it in a banquet room but we decided on that b/c of price. Hopefully we will get as lucky as you!! I went on mybarcelo.com and logged in. I do not see anything about Happy day specials.... and when I enter in 2 nights, it still tells me that its a 3 night minimum stay. Do I already have to have a booking in order to receive these specials?

Ok thank you for the info! We are getting married Nov 11th. I will have to sign up for mybarcelo and see what we can get. So far, on the barcelo website AND expedia, orbitz etc are all a 3 night minimum stay. It would be nice to find a 2 night stay at the Caribe/Beach. No matter what, a 3night stay is cheaper than the $500 vendor fee. (its $125 a night right now!)

You can book outside photographer but you have to book them a room. I just spoke with Ruth yesterday and I told her that I hired an outside photographer and she told me that I needed to book him at least 2 nights at the resort. The thing is.... there is a 3 night minimum so I am not sure why she told me 2 nights? I asked her but she hasnt got back to me....

Hey, my choices are the sax, flute and guitar. I have NO idea which to pick. I know I dont want the flute... I wonder how the guitar would be? I have heard nothing about a keyboard? Also, I have no idea what to give my guests as a little gift at dinner. I want to leave a little something by each plate but havent really read anything thats different. I looked online as well and its all the same stuff. Have any ideas?

Hello, I need some input! When did you book your photographer? I am going with an outside photographer (MexicoWeddings) and not sure If I can book before I get to that point with my WC? It takes them forever to answer 1 small question... I dont want to lose out on the photographer for that day. My wedding is 11/11/13. Is it too soon? I know that I will have to book them a 2 night stay (or 3? not sure)....

Hello ladies.. This thread is AMAZING! I have learned so much by reading everyone's comments... for hours and hours. My finace and I have decided to get married at the Barcelo Maya Palace on November 11, 2013 at 3 pm on the beach. (expecting at least 80 people!!!) There is SOOOO much that I need to do yet and my WC is Ruth which I have only heard from her twice in the last month. I really wanted the reception at Palmeras Grill (do not have the Strawberry pacakge) but I think we are going to stick with the Mint Breeze Package(and they dont allow you to "upgrade") to keep costs down since we are having a reception back home. I have read that a cocktail hour is a waste of money.... so I dont think we will be doing that. We are bringing an IPOD for music. I am currently looking for an outside photographer!! I received many recommendations reading through this thread... just trying to find the most affordable? Anyone have any recommendations? Also, how was the food that comes with the Mint Breeze package? I am SOOO worried about the banquet halls, they look so plain!! Has anyone really liked the banquet halls? Can you decorate them or do they put some decorations up if we requested that? Any feedback on ANYTHING you can think of will be greatly appreciated!! Im still going back and forth between hair and make-up by Adrian or just going with the spa.... ??
