:( sorry you are going through this! But you are def not alone. I ended up texting and emailing people to get a response. It is def very very frustrating and even a bit insulting for not rsvping, but there is one thing i have learned throughout this process.....that is those who want to come will fight tooth and nail to be there!! To tell you the truth, my mother is not coming. i prefer not to go into the details but let's just say my parents have been divorce for almost 10 years and she still can't be in the same room as my dad. Hang in there! And try not to let this bother you too much!!! Your energy is better spent on the other fun stuff!! :)

LOL I know this is an older post (but I am taking the time LONG LONG time to read all the previous posts as I am new to this site) But I had to laugh when you said your mother isn't coming because of your dad. My father isn't coming for the same reason and they have been divorced for 26 (yes twenty six) years. Seriously?!?! It's not funny I know but sometimes all you can do is laugh to keep your sanity :)

We swapped out some of the dessert options in favor of others that we think we'll like better from some of the other menus. If we had done a straight addition to the menu it would've been $2/item/person. I am not sure if the free swap is something standard or something I got because of previous issues we encountered with the planning process. I don't want to get into details but the resort "owed" me on a couple things so this may have just been a favor for our troubles. I'm also assuming that there would've been a charge if we wanted something that wasn't standard.

Kathryn83. Thank you for the info.

Ahh! I'm supposed to make my final, payment today, now I don't know what to do! Thanks for any feedback!

My WC (Lynda Gomez) told me that the vendor fee would cover the vendor and his assistant. So if my photographer brings an assistant it's $800 total for both. :)

We are doing the BBQ Deluxe and I have heard it is absolutely delicious! Honestly, I have heard that all the food is great! I'm excited to find out for myself bc the last time I went to an all inclusive resort (RIU Ochos Rios) I wasn't that impressed. Now, I was there for Spring Break lol so I wasn't really too concerned about food. For my wedding, though... I care a bit more.

MK0386 Thank you for your response. I will look forward to your review after the Big Day... I have stayed at a Gourmet all-inclusive in Riviera Maya and normally the food is Great. But I have read hours of this thread and never saw a mention of the BBQ but haven't read them 100% YET. LOL I too normally would not stress over food but yes it is Our Wedding(s) woot.gif

I know I posted this on another thresd but i need advice!

I ditto what AllieH said. Not for a wedding but a 10 years back while in Riviera Maya my uncle injured his arm on a excursion (his fault not the tour LOL) and ended up in the Cancun hospital the trip insurance more that took care of everything. On another trip to the Bahamas we got contacted while there about a death in the family and had to return home. Trip insurance took care of all extra charges. And for a third example about 6-7 yrs ago we had a trip planned to Riviera Maya and that area was hit with a hurricane 3 days prior to going trip insurance gave us a full refund.I always recommend it especially for any trip out of the country or booked so far in advance. You just never know what can happen. I haven't had to use it in about 7yrs (knock on wood) but with those experiences I would never travel with out it.
