  2. Question for the ladies who have had their wedding already! Which cake flavour did you get, and would you choose it again? We cant decide between chocolate, vanilla or coconut! Also, for anyone who rented the gazebo or poolside after dinner, and chose NOT to have a DJ, what was provided, if anything, for you to play music on? Was there a fee? Thanks in advance! Sarah
  3. We are going through air canada, and we get every 21st person free. We didn't shop around, since my fiancee's relative is our TA, so we didn't realize there was better deals out there. Oh well!
  4. I asked the wedding coordinator how many weddings per day, and she said 3. Mines at noon on Nov 13. I didn't realize how far in advance you need to book either! I know it sucks about waiting all day for the reception. She said the earliest time for dinner is 530. Once I know who is coming for sure, I'm going to look into some options for an excursion for everyone for the afternoon, and I think ill get a second wedding dress, like a shorter one, to wear out for the afternoon, since I don't want to change into 'normal' clothes! I'm sure if you ask Chandlyn to send you pics of the beach location , she'd send you some!
  5. We just got back last week from a vacation at the GBP, and loved it there! Super excited for Nov now!!!! Food was great everywhere, and the weddings looked beautiful from what I saw. Question: does anyone know if its possible to do an informal welcome dinner for all of the guests at one of the a la carte restaurants? I guess worst case scenario everyone can meet at the buffet (which had delish food also btw!)
  6. EEK! We're going for a week on vacation from Feb 15-22 to the GBP Getting married there Nov 13. We figured we'd take a vacation now, and what better than to check out the resort! So excited!
  7. Ive recently booked my wedding! Really excited, but kind of nervous of a few things... hopefully some of u can answer my questions i find it hard to get answers out of Chandlyn. I find its always very quick yes/no responses, that don't really answer my questions...... It seems like there are alot of weddings on a daily basis. Now that I've booked, im kind of nervous it wont feel special, knowing its like a production line of weddings. Has anyone had their wedding at noon? Thats when ours is booked; It seems soo early, but she said that's all that's available. What do you possibly do between then and the reception, without ruining your clothes/hair lol? Has anyone done a poolside reception after the dinner? What is that like? What did it cost? How much time do you have at the gazebo after the wedding ceremony? How big are the restaurants? Since there's several weddings per day, how do they arrange dinners? are several wedding parties there at once, in each restaurant?
  8. Hi! I'm getting married at the GBP in Oct/Nov 2013 (still need to confirm the date lol), and I keep hearing how the photographer on site at Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica is not very good. I'm wondering who people used other than them for their Jamaica wedding? I can't afford to hire someone from Canada and pay for their trip/fees etc. I'm also curious about videographers. If anyone has any info, that would be great! Links to websites, price list, etc would be greatly appreciated! Also, the fee of 800 seems crazy to bring in someone from outside! does anyone know if you hire separate photographers and videographers, if they're 800 each?
