sorry for getting back to you so late. I worked with Teresa Stauring from Vacations4less and she is amazing! I believe she got us a great deal and the best part is we stay for free and can give other free nights to others which I awesome. For every 5 booked rooms you get one room for free in the lowest category and number of nights. Question resulting from this: if I give my photographer a free night, would I still have to pay the day passes for him and his assistant? Less than 3 months to go. Ahhhhhh

Oh yay! More inconsistencies. I finally got a response from Pilar. Will post it later when I am on my laptop. From what I remember, you will pay for iPod set-up for the ceremony even if you have a dj for the reception. Then, what pissed me off the most is that you have to pay $40 if you want them to re-use your chair sashes for the reception or you have to provide double. Super annoying. Oh, and you can't use your hour photography whenever, only for the ceremony. WTF! The rest I forget but I will post it later. As a tip for everyone, I put numbers in front of all my questions and Pilar answered every single one of them.

Shannon, Adventure will come down to $1350 for us if we want all pictures (everything else obviously doesn't make any sense looking at the prices for pics now), and Sascha is $350 and hour and even brings an assistant. So if you have him for for hours it basically comes down to the same

Shannon, I got a response and am pissed. No more "all pictures for $350" or $1 per picture. No $300 discount for brides that get married later than July. Like, really? Not only did they raise the package prices for 2013, nope, photography just got $300 more expensive than expected. Not a happy camper here right now. It is good for you still though. That reminds me, in one document I have they give four dinner options and in the other only two for the divine. What are you going with? And are you choosing from all options and basically make your own meal or do you stick with the meal suggestion?

Sorry about the double post but my phone won't let me edit. I don't know if it was mentioned before but I got a quote from Floreria Riviera - a bridesmaids bouquet with ivory roses is $40 plus $20 delivery fee. I have four girls, so this saves me $80. Figured I'd share that as well

Shannon, it is word of mouth. I found it multiple times in this thread. So they better honor it. Inconsistency is never good for business. I'll definitely share what he responds. Yesterday in 8 months I'll be in Mexico and I can't wait!!!

So, I've emailed Federico that we want to upgrade to full day coverage and spend about $800 on it (I listened to you and upped the price a little bit so we would get more pictures). Now he writes me back that the package is $999 for getting ready at the spa, getting ready in the room, bride and groom pictures yadayada and 100 pics on a CD and 80 pictures in the album but since we have the Divine Package we would get a $150 discount. So yeah, victim of inconsistency here. I emailed right back that I've heard from other brides that the discount was $300 and $150 for outside photography. Lets see what he responds. This is annoying. I can deal with a lot but I hate inconsistency. It doesn't go well with my OCD haha.

Thanks for the info. That's really good to know that this basically counts as $300 credit because we have the Divine. After seeing the sample videos Federico sent me, I know I don't want to upgrade videography anymore, so now I have to tell him that. Yuck. Not looking forward to that.

I know, I think everyone has been there. It is just so overwhelming! From my research, my decision was between NOW Jade Riviera Cancun and El Dorado Royale, I also toyed with the Dreams Cancun (because of the dolphins). In the end Now Jade won because it was the best offer. I know they have everything you are looking for but be aware that at night you are going to get attacked by bugs at the beach. So my recommendation would be to have the wedding reception at the terrace maybe, you have the beach feeling but no bugs. Happy planning!

No, out of NYC. And we went with Teresa from Vacations 4 Less. She is amazing. We only booked the resort through her so far and looked for flight prices by ourselves. But I'll ask for quotes as well.

We are paying $1,249 pp plus transfer, which will run about $20 pp. This includes 7 nights at the resort Ocean View and flight. I cannot wait. October cannot come fast enough.

Katie, I'd love to see your pictures. We are having our reception at Castaways as well and are thinking about lanterns. I would love to see them "in action". Could you post a link please?

I We are using Teresa and she is super nice and patient. The contract is great, so I don't see problems on that end. As far as wedding planning goes, you do that directly with Pilar. Teresa doesn't have anything to do with it. You can relax. She knows what she is doing and just traveled to the NOW Jade in December or so, I believe!
