  1. There is no rule! You can get a larger band that will sit separate from your e-ring or you can get a matching band made to sit flush. Mine sits pretty high as well so my band (which comes in a couple weeks! YAY!) will be an eternity band with diamonds on all 3 sides to match the band of my e-ring and it will sit flush. I can snap a picture when it comes if you like
  2. Hi Ladies! Just wanted to make a spot for everyone to share info an experiences! My latest planning dilemma.....what kind of lighting and decor to do for an outdoor space? I don't want to spend too much and I haven't been able to find any pics of receptions on the wind terrace for inspiration. Anyone else running into this?
  3. Hi Melissa! Congrats to you! We're getting married at Le Blanc next year! As far as decor, we are working with Zuniga Productions which is a usual vendor for Le Blanc. They do both floral and decor, will work within your package and quote anything extra you may have in mind through your planner. Since they are a vendor preferred by the hotel there are no extra fees to go with them. There is also Creative Cancun and no extra fee for them either. I heard the Le Blanc DJ is great so we will be going with him. Haven't gotten to the menu yet but looking forward to that soon! Here are links to both places if you want to see and get and get an idea. Zuñiga Productions: http://www.decocancun.com/english.html Creative Cancún: http://www.creativecancunintl.com/Default3.aspx?GaleriaID=3#myGallery-picture(13) Happy planning! Hopefully we can help each other throughout the process...can't wait to see the pics of everyones events next year!
  4. One of the things we were very worried about is affordability for our guests....we are going with a knowledgable travel agent (Wright Travel Agency...hoping we get to work with Wendy as I have heard great things about her) in order that 1.) We can still get any deals or additional amenities that we would if everyone booked directly through the hotel and 2.) Guests can pay over time instead of one shocking lump sum which should be easier on everyones pocket books and make all our invited guests more likely to attend. One tip....check the prices booking directly through your hotel's site along with checking the discount sites....I found that for Le Blanc booking air and room through their site was significantly less expensive than cheapcarribean.com.
  5. 2.03 carat round center, set in a cushion shaped halo...just about 5 ctw for the setting. Can't wait to shop for wedding bands to match!
  6. I contacted a travel agent that I found through a recommendation in a thread from another Le Blanc bride. My fiancé and I were worried about the cost, but now that we are considering a travel agent it's a little easier. We can still get any extra amenities or offers that the hotel gives you for directly booking all the rooms, and in addition guests can make their travel arrangements but pay over time which is easier to work into people's everyday budgets. Also the travel agent keeps track of who has and hasn't booked so you have a little back up knowledge in addition to your RSVPs. The truth is not everyone can afford to go to a wedding like this but you will be surrounded by your nearest and dearest in a gorgeous destination just like the celebrities! Great memories for you both as well as your guests.....for those attending I plan to do a thank you message from us, and for those not attending I'm going to have "postcards" printed with a couple photos just to make them feel included and as a thank you just for sharing in our lives over the years. You can do them through the place you got your invites, or create your own online very cheap through Vista Print.
  7. I've actually had good luck with Men's Warehouse, have you gone there? Another consideration is if you have an outlet mall that is sizable they may have a men's suit store there (as ours does) and they not only carry a wide selection but can do ordering and custom tailoring. Our particular store has all the new lines and styles, but do sale prices and special deals to be competetive with their surrounding stores which are deeply discounted due to the inventory being last season or whatever the case may be. To find one that may be in your area google Premium Outlets.

  9. We both e-mailed and called. The woman we spoke with was helpful and the same afternoon sent us a list of preferred vendors along with some other info...the vendors all looked very good. I did however read another review on here from a bride that did a site visit last year and had some pretty horrible things to say, some of which were about the hotel itself (like paper thin walls that let in all the elevator and night club noise, as well as being SO thin that you can hear people showering in rooms next to you and from the hall). I have heard that it is hard to get in contact with the WC so I will also say that, while the woman we spoke with (at a loss for her name) was kind, prompt, and helpful, she also said over the phone that she was NOT the WC but that she had a majority of the information we needed so she could help us with our questions in the absence of the WC. This is good to know in the sense there are other people there who can and will help, but also makes sense to what I've seen other brides say which is that the actual WCs are hard to get in touch with. On the threads I have seen several brides say 3 days to a week for each response.
  10. Hi! We are looking into a wedding here as well....narrowed down to there or Le Blanc. I like something with a more modern, glam feel. We spoke with someone at ME for the first time today and I found her helpful although we only asked a few questions. Prices seem a bit cheaper than Le Blanc although the pass for guests staying outside the hotel is about the same and both are pricey. Le Blanc is $91 for guests staying at other palace resorts and $146 for non-guests at other hotels....there is a limit on how many passes and they are not day passes but only from an hour before until after the reception. ME requires you book at least 10 rooms, and for non-guests it is $119 or $134 for non-hotel guests to attend your event (the price depends which package you choose). Will keep you posted on what we find if you like!
  11. Learning SOOOOO much from this thread! We're almost there down to 2 places (between Le Blanc and ME by Melia) but I'm pretty sure Le Blanc is it for me. Any tips on budgeting? I noticed there are several ladies using other photographers and designers....didn't think about this before.....anyone have price lists for design or photography (I hear Del Sol is the way to go).
  12. We are looking into getting married at one of these 2 resorts in October next year. Any brides have any good or bad experiences to share? Any tips? Anything passed on from your guests regarding their stay, travel, etc.? Just anything would be great to know!
