  1. I bought this custom-made stamp in order to make my own vintage first-aid kit baggies to include in my welcome bags.

I filled them with band-aids, first-aid ointment, and some much needed pills! Needless to say, they were a hit among our guests!

The stamp is self-inking in the color red and it says "First Aid Kit" with a cross above it.

(purchased for 26.98 from Simon's stamps)

I added 6 mini-canvas bags that I had used for each kit. You can find these in a 12 pack at Joann's or Michael's craft stores.

    Hey!

So we used a template online from weddingwire.com, there are great apps in it but I must admit that some of the editing can be a little annoying to do but it's very self-explanatory.

Here is our website if you want to get some ideas:

I just have a few more questions...

What bar option is everyone going with?  I am having trouble deciding on this...don't know if it would be better to do a tab as there are several guests that don't drink alcohol.  Does anyone know how much they charge for water, juice, and pop?

And also, for brides that have already been there: what appetizers are a must have, and which ones could you do without?

    Thanks ladies.

I am on the same boat!

We wanted to go with the international open bar for 15 per person for 5 hours and because we have 50 guests, that will cost us 3750 just for drinks alone! But just like you said, we have a lot of guests that don't drink, or that maybe will have 1 drink all night long, so we are seriously considering having an open tab throughout the night like some brides suggested. I just don't know if that is something that ends up costing more depending on how large your group is. If anybody knows how much the individual drinks go for and like Jenn asked, water, juice and soda?

    Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know Chinese wish lanterns are allowed!! I am so happy! Also if its not too windy she can make a bonfire pit!

It's so great that you are forwarding the new list to some brides, I haven't heard anything about it from Mayte either. Do you mind sending me a copy when you get a chance? [email protected] Thanks! :)

  5. Hi girls,

Same here, communication with Mayte has been very difficult but at least I have 6 months before my wedding, but I understand how frustrating not getting any reassurance that everything is according to plan can be.

I am actually in a bit of trouble because of the lack of communication now because for the past month I have been trying everything I can to get the proper address for the restaurant and nobody knows it and Mayte doesn't get back to me. How did you guys put it in your invites?

    Thank you!

  6. Hi brides!

    I can't believe I haven't posted here yet!

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be at the Jellyfish but we will be staying at the Elegance in the week of July 26th, 2013. It turns out that the Majestic just didn't have a date or time that we wanted+ we felt like the jellyfish offered more choices to have a personalized reception although we really wish our ceremony was at the resort but oh, well...

Anyway, I just can't seem to find a ZIPCODE for the resort and therefore, can't put a link for it on my website, does anybody happen to know it? I would greatly appreciate it!

  7. Hi ladies! I don't know why my first post didn't appear here! I have my date reserved for July 26th at the jellyfish for my symbolic ceremony and reception. We will have around 70 guests and we'll be staying at Majestic Elegance. Mayte has been very helpful and the Jellyfish just seemed like a place where we could do our wedding our way vs. the Elegance where the wedding planners were constantly saying no to a lot of our requests.

I look forward to hearing from you guys and sharing our experiences and to start, I have 2 questions:

    1) does anybody know the actual address of the restaurant? (not the short address that's on the website, that won't work to add it to my wedding website maps)

    2) for any past brides; did you have your dance floor inside or outside? Was it really that breezy? Were there fans inside? I'm just worried it would be too hot in the middle of July, especially once people start dancing.

    Thank you!

  8. I am new Jellyfish bride here!!

We just got our date confirmed for July 26th, 2013 and signed our contract to stay at the Majestic Elegance!! I'm so excited!!!

I have tried to read everyone's posts here and it is amazing how your descriptions about Mayte were dead on! She just seems very passionate about what she does and after having so many issues with trying to do what we wanted at the Majestic Elegance, I could not have been more pleased to have found the Jellyfish as a better option!

I'll post as our plans move along but I have a couple of quick questions for past brides:

    1) our main concern is how hot it will be in July and the fact that the place is not airconditioned. Mayte said that it should not be a concern because it's very breeze there but I know that every wedding I've been to, once you start to dance, it always feels like the air conditioning is not enough and I would hate to have people complaining it's too hot! Any thoughts?

    2) I can't seem to find a proper address for them, does anybody know?

    Thank you!
