Hello, First off, congratulations on your engagement. I actually got married in Mexico and it was an Indian Sikh wedding. I myself am Hindu my Husband is Sikh. I married at Riu Palace Riviera Maya. I searched for months for a resort and comparing pricing and at the end of the day none of the resorts seemed reasonable. I then decided I would plan my own wedding and find my own vendors. You wont believe this but I saved thousands of dollars on my wedding. Upon returning I decided to open my own Destination wedding planning company because I felt that others who aren't capable of self planning a wedding shouldnt have to pay ridiculous pricing from the resorts. I specialize in everything from venue set-up, decorations, Henna, Hair and makeup, Indian catering, video and photography and the list goes on. Hi Jemma, I Had my wedding at Riu Palace and it was amazing. However I didnt not go through the resort to plan my wedding as I found all the resorts charged an arm and a leg for their services. The only thing i used them for was tables and chairs for the reception and food catering. Since my wedding I've actually started my own wedding planning business because I found that other brides were having the same pricing issues with the resorts that I went through so I spent months contacting my own vendors and putting my wedding together at a fraction of the cost that the resorts were quoting and came back and started a business. I specialize in everything from group bookings to photo video, hair, makeup, venue decorations and complete coordination of all the events.
